impressive AMOLED and quad cam
The all-new Vivo S5 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 712 chipset. Graphics are managed by an Adreno 616 unit. As far as storage options are concerned, the Vivo S5 comes in 128GB and 256GB flavors along with a MicroSD card slot. Both base and top-end models feature 8GB of RAM.
Visuals are provided by a large 6.44 FHD+ Super AMOLED display. The display is cut out to accommodate the selfie camera making the screen notch-less. As a result, Vivo claims the screen-to-body ratio is 91.38%. The resolution of the panel is 1080 x 2400 pixels and aspect ratio 20:9. Speaking of which, the fingerprint scanner is integrated into the gorgeous Super AMOLED panel.
Quad camera system
Vivo has fitted the S5 with four cameras at the back. As in, we do have a primary 48MP sensor followed by an 8MP ultrawide unit. Concluding the setup is a 5MP depth camera along with a 2MP sensor for macro photos. Videos can be captured at a max resolution of up to 4K @ 30fps.
Flip the Vivo S5 and upfront there is a 32MP camera for selfies. The front cam is able to record videos at a resolution of up to 1080p @ 30fps.
Battery power, Android, pricing and colors
A 4100 mAh battery pack is embedded in the Vivo S5. Also, Vivo has equipped the S5 with 22.5W fast battery charging via USB-C port. Android 9 Pie-based on Funtouch OS runs the Vivo S5. As far as pricing is concerned, the 128GB and 256GB will set you back $385 and $427 respectively. The Vivo S5 comes in Phantom Blue, Icelandic Blue and Star Black. This device will be available starting November 22 in China.
