Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini is a mini monster that was released as a cheaper alternative for those who want a good featured smartphones at an affordable price. The device is stripped off version of Samsung’s best-seller and current flagship the Galaxy S3. The Galaxy S3 was released in three variants: GT-I8190, a normal phone with GSM connectivity;ย GT-I8190,ย a GSM variant with NFC (Near Field Communication) connectivity; and GT-I8190L, with LTE connectivity. The rest of the features, e.g.ย 4.0-inch WVGA (480ร800)ย capacitive touchscreenย display,ย 1 GHz dual-core processor, ย 5 MP Auto Focus rear camera,ย 1GB RAM, and aย 1,500 mAh battery, are common to all variants.
The device was launched on October 16, 2012 with Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean firmware out of the box. Soon afterwards, in December, Samsung began pushing the Android 4.1.2 update to the device. In the present post we shall be guiding to theย procedure using which you can upgrade your Galaxy S3 Mini GT-I8190N to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware. If you have missed or have been unable to get the OTA update via Kies or on-device updateย feature, you can download the complete ย firmware from below and install it via Odin tool for flashing firmware on Samsung Galaxy phones.
The list ย given below contains two typesย of firmwares: the branded ones that can flashed only onย Galaxy S3 Mini GT-I8190N phones that are locked to a network provider, and the unbranded ones that can be installed on anyย Galaxy S3 Mini GT-I8190N that is not SIM/Network locked.
How to Install:
Download the firmware file in zip and extract it on your desktop. Inside the extracted folder you will find a file with .tar.md5 extension. Go to this tutorial and while selecting the file for PDA, select this .tar.md5 file. All other steps are common.
