The Honor 8 Pro is one of the latest devices under Huawei’s budget friendly Honor sub-brand. The device was recently launched in Europe and is soon to be launched in India. Those Honor 8 Pro owners who love rooting their devices would be happy to know that there’s a working root method now available for the device. Developerย OldDroidย from Team OpenKirin hasย provided a working TWRP build for the handset. Now that anyone can unlock the bootloader, install TWRP and root Honor 8 Pro, developers will soon be able to create and distribute custom ROMs, kernels, and mods for Honor 8 Pro.
Warning
The method described here only works on Honor 8 Pro [DUK] so don’t try this on any other device unless you deliberately want to brick it for some reason. Also, note that rooting willย void your phone warranty. We are not responsible for any damage to your phone even if you claim to have followed the guide correctly. You must understand the amount of risk involved and proceed at your own responsibility. That said, we’re happy to help in any case.
