Japanese manufacturer Sharp introduced their mid-range device, the Aquos S3 Mini back in March of 2018. The Sharp Aquos S3 Mini is powered by a mid-range grade Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC coupled with an Adreno 508 GPU aided by 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. Thankfully, a dedicated MicroSD card slot (hybrid solution: either SIM 2 or MicroSD card) that can handle cards of up to 256GB in size is available in the device for expanded storage. Providing visuals is a notched 5.5in 1080 X 2040 pixels Full HD+ IGZO IPS LCD display with an aspect ratio of 17:9 and a fine enough pixel density of 420 PPI. A fingerprint scanner is embedded in the home button.

Camera

Photography is handled by a single camera setup at the rear featuring a 16MP (f/2.0 lens) (PDAF) assisted by an LED flash. A 20MP (f/2.0) selfie shooter is present upfront for selfieholics out there. The rear and front-facing cameras can record videos at a resolution of to 1080p @ 30fps.

Battery, connectivity and Android version

A not so impressive 3020 mAh battery is onboard to provide decent enough juice to the sharp Aquos S3 Mini and also the device comes bundled with a fast charger to top it up fast (5V/2A) via the USB Type-C port. Coming to the connectivity side of the Aquos S3 Mini, it has you all covered with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.2 LE with A2DP and EDR, GPS and more. Thankfully, Sharp has retained the good old headphone jack we all love. The Sharp Aquos S2 runs on Android Nougat 7.1.1 Nougat (at the time of unveiling) out of the box.

When the Sharp Aquos S3 Mini was unveiled back in March, it was up for pre-order at JD.com in China for CNY 1,600/approx. Rs. 16,300. However, at the moment, the device on the same website costs CNY 1,200/approx. Rs. 12,230. The Aquos S3 Mini is available in Meteorite Black, Blue and Flowing Gold paint jobs.
