Remember the 90 second Super Bowl ad, centering round the Galaxy Note, that Samsung released back in 2012? It is just the last day of January 2013 ans Samsung is back at it again with another video ad “El Plato Supremo” (Spanish words meaning the Super Bowl) which is seen as the part of their “The Next Big Thing” campaign.
The ad teaser stars Paul Rudd, Seth Rogen and Bob Odenkirk. You can watch them attempting to dance around using the words “Super Bowl” but they say “El Plato Supremo” instead because the phrase cannot be said due to it being trademarked. Their funny exercise and play with the pitching process will surely bring a smile at your face. Set to air during the 4th quarter of the game, the commercial will run up to full 2 minutes. Samsung has dubbed it as “The Big Pitch” that will feature the “next big thing,” about the Galaxy family of products including the Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 10.1. According to a Samsung USA official,
“The Big Pitch,” the full 2-minute ad, and an extended cut version with never-been-seen footage will be released later this week. Consumers will have the opportunity to weigh in on their favorite moments and win prizes using the hashtag #TheNextBigThing. The Next Big Thing campaign has allowed us the flexibility to tap into significant cultural moments and relevant conversations while showcasing our innovation. This ad represents our collaborative, real-time approach to creating ads with Samsung. Their unique approach to marketing has given them a competitive edge and has helped propel the brand to be one of the top 10 in the world.
The teaser make one thing clear that Samsung is not going to unveil any new devices as the “next big thing”. However, we can expect another entertaining Super Bowl commercial instead. For now, enjoy the first installment of the ad and stay smiling till we come back with the second one.
