We have seen Samsung going after Apple in the past when it poked fun at the iPhone 5’s lack of innovation and the faithful idevotees waiting in a line to get the new iPhone through its TV commercials. That ad was followed by a series of serious teasers showing the features of Samsung’s current flagships like the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2.
Samsung has again plunged into a bit sarcastic ad warfare with a new video ad, but this time the target is not the Korean OEM’s arc enemy Apple. Quite surprisingly, this video takes the boot to the already downtrodden BlackBerry in an attempt to win over more business customers. Though there is no direct mention of the BlackBerry in the ad, yet the business phone with physical keyboards shown in it is explicit enough to say it all. Samsung uses the ad to shatter the very idea that the phones with Android OS, especially those from Samsung, are not secure and fit enough to be used as a business companions.
The new ad revolves round the cliche “Play hard. Work SAFE.”, and stresses the safety measures that make the Galaxy phone the most secure gadget for businessmen class whose favorite, it is considered, is RIM’s Blackberry. “The next big thing for business is here”- that is all Samsung says. A short glimpse of the iPhone still reminds us that Apple is not yet out of the Korea’s sight. Overall, it’s not a bad commercial and it is definitely worth a watch.
