Entry level Samsung Galaxy J6+ is official with side mounted fingerprint scanner!
Specifications
Korean smartphone giant Samsung introduced the new entry-level Galaxy J6+ a couple of days ago. The Galaxy J6+ is powered by an entry-level grade Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC coupled with an Adreno 308 GPU. There are two storage and RAM options available: A 3GB RAM variant with 32GB of internal storage and a 4GB RAM variant with 64GB of internal storage variant. Oddly enough, a dedicated MicroSD card slot seems to be missing (if anybody could confirm). Providing visuals is a 6in 720 x 1480 pixels HD IPS LCD Infinity Display with an aspect ratio of 18:5:9 and a pixel density of 274 PPI. Interestingly, a fingerprint sensor is onboard the Galaxy J6+ that is mounted at the side of the device which is unusual for a Samsung device.
Camera
Photography is handled by a dual camera setup at the rear featuring a dual-aperture wide angle 13MP (f/1.9 lens) + 5MP depth sensors combination assisted by a single LED flash. The rear camera can record videos at a resolution of up to 1080p @ 30fps. An 8MP (f/1.9) shooter is present upfront for selfieholics out there. The front facing camera is expected to record videos at a resolution of to 1080p @ 30fps.
Battery, connectivity and Android OS
A massive and impressive 3300 mAh battery is onboard the giant Galaxy J6+ to provide decent enough juice. Speaking of which, the device sticks to the obsolete Micro USB port for charging and data transfers. Coming to the connectivity side of the Galaxy J6+, it has you covered but with a catch as in it has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 LE with A2DP and EDR, GPS for navigation and location-based services and more. Thankfully, the device retains the good old headphone jack we all love. The Galaxy J6+ runs on Android 8.1 Oreo-based Samsung Experience UI 9.0+ out of the box.
Pricing, availability and color options
As of writing this article, pricing and availability information is not yet available. However, we can expect the Galaxy J6+ is expected to be between Rs. 15,000-20,000 for the Indian market. The device will be available in Black, Silver and Red color options.
