August 2018 security patch has begun rolling out to the Samsung Galaxy J6 in Europe.
Korean tech giant Samsung is rolling out the August 2018 security patch update for its Infinity Display equipped budget grade Galaxy J6. As per a report from SamMobile, the update as expected brings in security enhancements and improvements and bug fixes. Speaking of which, the update fixes 4 critical Android OS vulnerabilities, dozens of high and moderate risk level vulnerabilities and also fixes 11 vulnerabilities and exposures found in the company’s Samsung Experience UI. The Over-The-Air update is currently rolling out in Europe with Italy to get it first and foremost. The update is designated with the build number J600FNXXU3ARH1. Do not except any brand new or groundbreaking features with this update.

Back in May 2018, Samsung unveiled their entry-level Galaxy J6 which is the most affordable Infinity Display equipped smartphone. The Galaxy J6 features a SuperAMOLED Infinity display keeping up with the 2018 trend of 18:9 screen aspect ratio. The Galaxy J6 features a 5.6 HD+ display with 720 x 1480 resolution, an entry level 1.6 GHz Exynos 7870 Octa-core processor coupled to a Mali-T830 MP1 GPU aided by 4GB of RAM (64GB of internal storage variant) or 3GB of RAM (32GB variant) with a dedicated MicroSD card slot onboard that can handle cards up to 256 GB for storage expansion. Keeping the lights on is a 3000mAh battery. A fingerprint scanner and face unlock are available as biometric authentication options
Camera
Photography is handled by a simple and basic single camera setup featuring a 13MP (f/1.9) shooter at the rear. Selfies are handled by an 8MP (f/1.9) unit. Both front and rear cameras feature a single LED flash.
Connectivity and Android version
Coming to the connectivity side of the Samsung Galaxy J6, it has you all covered with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 LE with A2DP, GPS and more. Thankfully, the Galaxy J6 retains the good old headphone jack we all love. The Galaxy J6 runs on Android 8.0 Oreo-based Samsung Experience UI out of the box.
