Today we have the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star stock wallpapers in Full HD+ quality. Samsung India has launched the Amazon India exclusive Galaxy A8 Star mid-range smartphone featuring a capable Snapdragon 660 SoC.
Korean tech giant Samsung took the wraps off the all-new Galaxy A8 Star mid-range device on 24 August 2018 in India. For those of you living under a rock, the Galaxy A8 Star was originally launched in China as the Galaxy A9 Star back in June 2018.
Specifications
The Galaxy A8 Star is powered by a mid-range grade Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC coupled with an Adreno 512 GPU aided by 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Thankfully, a dedicated MicroSD card slot (utilizes SIM2 slot on dual-SIM models) that can handle cards of up to 512GB in size is available in the device for expanded storage. Providing visuals is a 6.3in 1080 x 2220 pixels Full HD+ AMOLED Infinity display with an aspect ratio of 18:5:9 (i hate 18:9 displays, but in vain, it is what future devices will be equipped with) and an OKish pixel density of 392PPI. As expected on pretty much any smartphone nowadays, the Galaxy A8 Star is equipped with a fingerprint scanner and also features face unlock as biometric authentication options. Also, Samsung’s Bixby assistant is onboard and to access it, all you have to do is just tap the dedicated Bixby button located below the volume buttons.
Camera
Photography is handled by a dual camera setup at the rear featuring a 16 MP (f/1.7 lens) (PDAF) + 24MP (f/1.7) sensors assisted by a single LED flash. The rear camera can record videos at a resolution of up to 4K @ 30fps. A 24MP (f/2.0) shooter is present upfront for selfieholics out there. The front facing camera can record videos at a resolution of up to 1080 @ 30fps.
Battery, connectivity and Android version
An impressive 3700mAh battery is onboard the giant Galaxy A8 Star to provide decent enough juice to keep it ticking on and also the device comes bundled with a 15W Adaptive Fast Charging charger to top it up fast enough in the morning via the USB Type-C port. Coming to the connectivity side of the Galaxy A8 Star, it has you all covered with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0 LE, A2DP and EDR, GPS and more. Thankfully, the device retains the good old headphone jack we all love. The Galaxy A8 Star runs on Android 8.0 (seriously, Sammy?, why no 8.1 at least?) Oreo-based Samsung Experience UI out of the box.
Pricing, availability and color options
The Samsung Galaxy A8 Star will set you back Rs. 34,990. As I mentioned earlier, the Galaxy A8 Star is launching in India as an Amazon India exclusive device on August 27, 2018. It will be available in Black and White paint jobs.
