Quad rear camera system

The point and shoot system on the Realme 5 Pro is managed by 4 sensors at back. You have a primary wide-angle 48MP (f/1.8). Next up, there is an 8MP (f/2.2) ultrawide camera. The third sensor is a dedicated 2MP camera dedicated to macro shots. The camera fest is concluded by a 2MP (f/2.4) basic depth-sensing camera. Selfies are managed by a 16MP (f/2.0) shooter.

Both primary and front-facing cameras are able to record videos at a resolution of up to 4K @ 30fps and Full HD @ 30 fps respectively.

Display, chipset and RAM

A large water-drop notched 6.3-inch Full HD+ IPS panel is onboard the Realme 5 Pro for providing visuals. The aspect ratio and resolution of the panel are 19.5:9 and 1080 x 2340 pixels (same goes for the stock wallpapers) respectively.

The heart of the Realme 5 Pro is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 SoC. Aiding the chipset is either 4GB, 6GB or 8GB of RAM on the 64GB, again 64GB and 128GB variants respectively.  For storage expansion, a MicroSD card slot is available.

A fingerprint reader is located at the rear of the Realme 5 Pro for biometric authentication purposes.

AI Freezer

Catchy marketing name aside, the AI Freezer does what other Android smartphones do to save power. That is, completely shut down all unused apps over time.

Battery power and charging, connectivity and Android

An adequate 4035 mAh battery is embedded in the Realme 5 Pro. Speaking of which, fast battery charging is onboard. Oppo’s VOOC 3.0 charging tech is onboard that helps top-up the battery half-full from flat in 30 minutes. Also, quite naturally, a USB-C port is featured in the Realme 5 Pro.

As far as connectivity is concerned, the Realme 5 Pro features Dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0 LE along with GPS for navigation and location services. For those bothered, an audio jack is present in the Realme 5 Pro.

As for the Android OS version, the Realme 5 Pro ships with ColorOS 6 based Android 9.0 Pie.

Pricing, availability and paint jobs

The Realme 5 Pro price starts at INR 13,999 and will be available for purchase starting September 4. The new smartphone comes in Crystal Blue and Crystal Green color options.
