Poco recently became an independent brand and its first smartphone for the year has been officially launched in India. The launch event resembled a YouTube-style comparison between the Poco X2 and Realme X2. It seems Poco wanted to take a jab at Realme with its latest smartphone. Of course, as most of us expected, the Poco X2 is basically a rebranded Redmi K30. Therefore, if you already know everything about the Redmi K3o, then there’s not much new to learn about the latest device from Poco.
Apart from the lackluster launch event, the Poco X2 is actually a decent device. And before we dive in further, we want to make one thing clear at first. The X2 is not the successor to the OG Poco F1. Therefore, we would not suggest anyone to trade in their Poco F1 for the rebranded Redmi K30. This, however, does not mean that you should not buy the new device. If you’re looking to upgrade your smartphone with a budget under Rs. 20,000, the Poco X2 is possibly the best option for most users. Additionally, the device’s kernel source will be available right from today for developers. Therefore, you can expect a lot of third-party development for the device soon.

Most Poco fans expected the Poco X2 to rock the latest Snapdragon 765 SoC with onboard 5G support. However, it seems the only thing Poco changed from the Redmi K30 is the branding. The device comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection at the front and the back. Fortunately, the 27W fast charger comes in the box. Thus, you wouldn’t have to shell out more money to buy the fast charger separately.
