Panasonic is riding on success with home electronics, health and beauty appliances, communications and business solutions. Now they have entered into smartphone world with their P Series Android smartphone Panasonic P51. This smartphone is targeted towards the country’s young generation and can give a solid competition to rival smartphone makers like Micromax, Karbonn, etc. First impression of the new smartphone is a faster and beautiful device.
Talking briefly on the device, the smartphone will have Android version 4.2 (Jellybean) on board! Yes, that’s a step ahead of the rivals which are still stuck on Android version 4.0 (ICS).
Another good thing about the phone is it’s a dual-sim phone which is very demanding as far as Indian smartphone market is considered. This smartphone is sure to grab attention as soon as it’s launched.
Panasonic P51 sports a larger 5-inch display which has a resolution of 1280×720 pixels with a PPI of 294 and a MediaTek quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and comes with a PowerVR SGX544 GPU, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot. The device has on-screen navigation keys and comes with a magnetic flip cover case with a capacitive stylus as well.
Talking about the connectivity options the Panasonic P51 comes with 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm jack, a microUSB slot and A-GPS. The 5 incher device comes with an 8 megapixel camera on the back and a 1.3 megapixel camera on the front panel for video chatting/calling functions.
P51 has a 2500 mAh battery which I think is good enough for long lasting day or could last longer with minimal usage. Panasonic P51 weighs 135 grams which is nothing special but what special is the device is only 8.5mm thick. That’s another thing for the smartphone rivals to think on.
Panasonic P51 can be classified into a mid-range Android smartphones category. It is the Janpanese company’s first Android smartphone in the Indian market and hopefully the company might spread it’s smartphone market in the Europian and North American markets as well.
Overall, Panasonic P51 has managed to impress us with it’s low weight and slimmer smartphone with Android 4.2 on-board and a 5 inch display with Dual-Sim functionality and we think the device will be gladly welcomed to mid-range class. The smartphone is priced at 26,900 INR which I think is a bit high. We are expecting your opinions and thoughts about the smartphone in the comments section below and tell us if this is going to be your next Android smartphone.
