Google Camera with Night Sight was introduced with the Pixel 3 and it has gained popularity among Android users because of its sterling performance in low-light conditions. The Google Camera with night sight has been ported to all major high-end devices and now it’s available for the Razer Phone too. Download the Google Camera Port APK from below and enjoy HDR+ and Google Night Sight Camera on Razer Phone.
We’ve seen the Google Camera get ported to so many devices and this has only picked up pace since the launch of the original Google Pixel devices. Before that, the Google Camera app was just another camera app. Ever since Google introducedย the HDR+ tech through the original Google Pixel, things have changed drastically. Google Camera is being ported to more and more devices from the budget segment to high-end flagships. From the Xiaomi Mi A1 and Poco F1 to the OnePlus 6/6T and the Galaxy S9ย and everything in between. This also includes the Razer Phone 2 and the now original Razer Phone, which now also has HDR+ and Night Sight.
The Razer Phone was introduced as a gaming smartphone, the first of its kind back then. Unlike gaming laptops though, a gaming smartphone doesn’t make much sense because you still get the same processor that’s in the OnePlus, or the Galaxy Note or the Pixel. Whereas in gaming laptops you get a lot more horsepower compared to other laptops that are built to look sleek. To their credit, Razer did make a few adjustments like slapping a 120Hz display instead of the normal 60Hz displays. They missed out on the camera though. The Razer Phone’s camera was the worst among similarly priced phones.
Google Camera Port for Razer Phone
Since all the flagship smartphones use the exact same sensor, mostly, what actually makes the camera great is the image processing. That is the software side of things, not the hardware. And we all know who does really great camera software, Google does. They’ve time and again shown their expertise in the field by achievingย extraordinary results with a single camera lens. We live in a world where smartphones have 4 to 6 cameras and they still can’t beat the Pixel all the time.
HDR+ has been the secret sauce behind the stellar performance of the Google Camera on the Pixel. Night Sight is another new addition that helps users take amazing pictures in low light, without the flash. We’ve already seen the difference it can make when comparing Night Sight with OnePlus’ Nightscape.ย XDA Retired Recognized Developerย HomerSpย has created a port of the Google Camera which includes both these features and brings them to the Razer Phone.

Note
This mod is based onย BSG’s latest build of his Google Camera port which isย MGC_6.1.021_MI8_V1f.apk. This is still early development though and you can expect a few crashes here and there. For instance, slow-motion video recording does not work and neither does the portrait mode from the front camera. For some, tapping on the gallery in the bottom-right to view the saved photo may crash the camera too. This problem seems to be tied with a setting to use the Google Photos app to display saved images instead of the stock gallery app.
Also, the secondary rear camera does not work at all since the Google Camera port can’t access it. The Google Pixel only has a single rear camera so the Google Camera was never designed to work with two camera sensors at once. A hack did allow this functionality for the Google Camera on the Razer Phone 2, but the same hack doesn’t work on the original Razer Phone. This is because of something in the Android Oreo firmware build of the Razer Phone. Thus, it can’t be fixed unless Razer changes this in the Android Pie update.
