It’s September already and Android fans could relate it to one special thing, Google’s Nexus device launch. It’s a kind of tradition that Google launches their Nexus device every year in and around September along with their latest Android version preloaded. Last year, we’ve seen the mammoth Nexus 6 with QHD display which has received a mixed opinion for being a bit extra-large and overpriced for a Nexus device. In an attempt to overcome last years mistakes, Google is preparing to launch two Nexus devices this year and looks like September 29 is the launch date.
As perย CNET report, Google has scheduled an event on September 29 at San Francisco to unveil the next generation Nexus 5 2015 smartphones. This is the first time Google would be launching two Nexus devices in the same year and this could mean that there would be no tablet launch this year. One of the device would be manufactured by LG while the other device, probably the premium and more powerful version will be crafted by China-based Huawei. As you’d expect, both would come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and the latest Google apps.
The most recent leaks reveal a lot of information regarding the specs of these two devices and their build design. The LG based Nexus 5 2015 would be smaller of the two with a 5.2 inch full HD display, powered by a Snapdragon 808 chipset, Adreno 418 GPU coupled with 3GB RAM. The device will be backed up by a 2700 mAh battery and boasts 13 MP rear camera and 5 MP front camera. Other unique specs include USB Type-C charging port, quick charge and fingerprint scanner.
On the other hand, the Huawei based Nexus device would be a bit larger at 5.7 inch and comes with a QHD display. The device will be powered by a Snapdragon 810 chipset, 3GB RAM and 3500 mAh battery. The other specs would like USB Type-C port, quick charge and fingerprint scanner would be the same as LG Nexus. The Huawei Nexus is supposedly the premium Nexus of the year which is targeted to compete with the other high-end Android devices and iPhone 6.
The Nexus 6 effect made Google rethink about the pricing of the Nexus this year. The LG Nexus 5 2015 is expected to be priced at $350-$450 while the Huawei Nexus might go north of $350. Apparently, Google wants to gain an upper hand in the phablet section with the Huawei Nexus at hand. Well, everything is going to be unveiled at the September 29 launch event.ย Meanwhile we will bring you the latest updates on the Nexus 5 launch, specs and more rumors.
