Lenovo owned Motorola a.k.a. “Lenovorola” or “Motonovo” unveiled the mid-range Moto G6 series last month. This year the G6 series have become premium than ever with a glass-on-glass build and 2018 trendy 18;9 aspect ratio screens. Without further ado, let’s get straight on to the specs. First let’s start off with the less specced Moto G6 Play followed by the better specced Moto G6 and the best specced of the trio, the Moto G6 Plus. Here you go:
Moto G6 Play specifications
The Moto G6 Play is the less specced among the Moto G6 and G6 Plus in the G6 series. The Moto G6 Play is powered by a not so powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Octa-core SoC clocked at 1.4 GHz coupled with an Adreno 505 GPU aided by 3GB of RAM. The storage capacity of the G6 Play is 32GB with a dedicated MicroSD card slot available in the device for expanded storage. Providing visuals is a 5.7in 720 x 1440 pixels HD+ MAX Vision IPS LCD display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a disappointingly low pixel density of 282 PPI.
Photography is handled by a single camera setup at the rear featuring a 13MP (f/2.0 lens) sensor assisted by an LED flash and an 8MP shooter upfront also assisted by an LED flash. The cameras both at the front and rear can record videos up to 1080p at 30fps. A 4000 mAh battery is onboard to provide more than enough juice to the Moto G6 Play and also the device comes bundled with a 15W Turbo charger to top it up fast enough.
Coming to the connectivity side of the Moto G6 Play, it has you all covered but with a catch as in it has WI-FI 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 LE with A2DP and EDR, GPS and more all while still clinging to already obsolete Micro USB port for charging. Oh, and by the way, the device features the good old headphone jack we all love. The G6 Play runs on the stock, pure and clean Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box with of course a few Moto exclusive features and enhancements. The Motorola dimple logo below the camera module at the rear of the Moto G6 Play is the fingerprint sensor.

Design. The G6 trio are heavily inspired by their X4 cousin
Design wise, the G6 trio takes a lot of design cues from its Moto X4 cousin, so much so that these new devices just look like imposters of the X4 which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
