The Motorola Moto E5, E5 Plus, and E5 Play are Moto’s most basic, simple and budget offerings. And today, we have Motorola Moto E5, E5 Plus, and Moto E5 Play stock wallpapers for you.
Lenovo owned Motorola or “Motonovo” as I would like to put it introduced the budget Moto E5 series back in April and a couple of months later in June in the Indian market. This year the E series is a bit premium than ever with a glass-on-glass build on the E5 Plus only and a trendy for 2018 18:9 aspect ratio screens (not on the E5 Play). Without further ado, let’s get straight on to the specs. First let’s start off with the less specced Moto E5 Play (exclusive to the US market) followed by the better specced Moto E5 and the best specced of the trio, the Moto E5 Plus. Here you go:
Moto E5 Play specifications
The Moto E5 Play is the less specced among the Moto E5 and E5 Plus in the E5 series. The Moto E5 Play is powered by a budget grade Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 Octa-core SoC clocked at 1.4 GHz coupled with an Adreno 308 GPU aided by 2GB of RAM. The storage capacity of the E5 Play is 16GB with a dedicated MicroSD card slot available in the device for expanded storage. Providing visuals is a traditional 16:9 5.2in HD+ 720 x 1280pixels IPS LCD display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a pixel density of 282 PPI. The Motorola dimple logo below the camera module at the rear of the Moto E5 Play is in itself the fingerprint scanner.
A budget camera setup for a budget phone
Photography is handled by a single camera setup at the rear featuring an 8MP (f/2.0 lens) sensor assisted by an LED flash and a 5MP shooter up front also assisted by an LED flash. The camera at the rear can record videos up to 1080p at 30fps.
Battery, connectivity and Android version
A 2800 mAh battery is onboard to provide more than enough juice to the Moto E5 Play. Speaking of which, the E5 Play features obsolete and outdated MicroUSB port for charging although there is fast battery charging onboard rated at 5V/2A. Coming to the connectivity side of the Moto E5 Play, it has you all covered but with Wi-FI 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 LE with A2DP and EDR, GPS. Oh, and by the way, the device features the good old headphone jack we all love. The E5 Play runs on the stock, pure and clean Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box with of course a few Moto exclusive features and enhancements.
Moto E5 Specifications
The Moto E5 is slightly better specced in comparison to the Moto E5 Play. The Moto E5 is powered by the same Snapdragon 425 Octa-core SoC clocked at 1.4 GHz coupled with an Adreno 308 GPU aided by the same 2GB of RAM present in the E5 Play and 16GB of internal storage. A dedicated MicroSD card slot is available in the device for expanded storage. However, the main difference is in the screen size, quality and aspect ratio. Speaking of which, providing visuals is a 5.7in 720 x 1280 pixels HD+ MAX Vision IPS LCD display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a pixel density of 268PPI. The Motorola dimple logo below the camera module at the rear of the Moto E5 Play is in itself the fingerprint scanner.
A camera upgrade over the E5 Play
Photography is handled by a single camera setup at the rear featuring a 13MP (f/2.0lens) assisted by an LED flash and a 5MP (f/2.2) shooter upfront also assisted by an LED flash. The camera at the rear can record videos up to 1080p @ 30fps.
Battery, connectivity and Android version
Impressively a massive 4000 mAh battery is onboard to provide decent enough juice to the Moto E5. Disappointingly, the device needs to be charged via the outdated MicroUSB port although fast battery charging at 10W is onboard to help it fill it up with juice fast in the morning. Coming to the connectivity side of the Moto E5 Play, it has you all covered with Wi-FI 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 LE with A2DP and EDR, GPS. Oh, and by the way, the device features the good old headphone jack we all love. The E5 runs on the stock, pure and clean Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box with of course a few Moto exclusive features and enhancements.
Moto E5 Plus specifications
The Moto E5 Plus is the best specced among the trio in the series. The Moto E5 Plus is again powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 Octa-core SoC clocked at 1.4 GHz coupled with an Adreno 308 GPU but aided by 3GB (32GB internal storage) or 2GB of RAM (16GB internal storage). A dedicated MicroSD card slot available in the device for expanded storage. Providing visuals is a 6.0in 720 x 1280 pixels HD+ MAX Vision IPS LCD display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a pixel density of 268 PPI. The Motorola dimple logo below the camera module at the rear of the Moto E5 Play is in itself the fingerprint scanner.
The camera is oddly downgraded to 12MP. After all, megapixels are not everything, right?
Photography is handled by a single camera setup at the rear featuring a 12MP (as opposed to 13MP on the E5) assisted by an LED flash and a 5MP (f/2.2) shooter upfront also assisted by an LED flash. The camera at the rear can record videos up to 1080p @ 30fps.
Battery, connectivity and Android version
A massive than ever 5000mAh battery is onboard to provide juice to the Moto E5 Plus and also the device comes bundled with a 10W or 15W Turbocharger to top it up fast enough via the now obsolete MicroUSB port. Coming to the connectivity side of the Moto E5 Plus, it has you all covered with WI-FI 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2 LE with A2DP and EDR, GPS and more. Oh, and by the way, the device features the good old headphone jack we all love. The E5 Plus runs on the stock, pure and clean Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box with of course a few Moto exclusive features and enhancements.
Design: The Moto E5 trio resembles the G6 series of devices
Design wise, the E5 trio takes a lot of design cues from their G6 cousins, so much so that these new devices just look like imposters of the G6 series of devices which isn’t necessarily a bad thing at all.
