Huawei is even ahead of Samsung in the tablet game as it releases not only high-end models but also budget-friendly options. The Huawei Waterplay tablet is one such offering from Huawei’s budget focused sub-brand Honor. The tablet was announced way back in October 2017 alongside the Honor 7X.

Huawei Waterplay specs

As its name implies, the Waterplay is water-resistant, adhering to the IP67 standard in fact. That means submerging it in up to 1m of water for up to 30 minutes shouldn’t pose any problems. This water-resistant package is powered by a Kirin 659 octa-core processor, the same as the Honor 7X. With that, you get either 3GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage or a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage.

Upfront is a 10.1-inch IPS LCD 24-bit display with a resolution of 1,920 pixels by 1,200 pixels. Below the display is a fingerprint scanner which also acts as a physical home button. Above the display sits a tiny 0.3 MP camera sensor for making poor quality video calls or for when you absolutely need a selfie really bad. The rear camera is an 8 MP sensor which is fine considering nobody really uses a tablet for photography.

Being a 2017 device also means it has a 3.5mm headphone jack. The tablet is powered by a 6,660 mAh battery which supports 18W fast charging. Out of the box, it runs Android Android 7.0 Nougat with EMUI 5.1 on top. In terms of connectivity options, you get optional LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1+LE, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. Its dimensions are 248 × 173 × 7.8mm, and it weighs 465g.
