The outstanding 2011 flagship, the HTC Sensation might have been long forgotten by the OEM but it sticks to its way on Android. As per HTC guidelines, the device is only supported to be updated to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) which is surely a disgrace for this awesome piece. But does this really affect the developers and contributors at the XDA-Developers community? I say, no! and I am cent percent sure that you people share the same thought.
Late yesterday (Dec 7, 2012), the CyanogenMod Team released out a pure experimental build for HTC Sensation (pyramid) featuring Jelly Bean CyanogenMod; CM10. The migration took from the latest CM9 Nightly-20121202 to CM10 Experimental-20121207; the name itself suggests the present-day state of the build. After the successful reports from users regarding the experimental build, new changes/updates are constantly being merged into the pyramid deviceย repositoryย on CyanogenMod Github by its respective CM device maintainer:ย intervigilium. The developer now targets to release Nightly builds and take the device to a stable stateย of Jelly Bean. If you are a developer and are interested in contributing to the CyanogenMod pyramid code, visit theย HTC Sensation (pyramid) repository.ย You may also follow the current changes being merged at theย CM Gerrit.
We do wish the developer, contributors and users, best of luck for their upcoming builds and support. For in the views of DroidViews, this might just be the initialization of a new era for the HTC Sensation users, bringing the best of Android to this tremendous device.

Hi. I own htc sensation Sensation
. i did all the steps but when i tried to install the rom it says installation aborted. what should i do?
Hi. I own htc sensation xl. i did all the steps but when i tried to install the rom it says installation aborted. what should i do?
What error it shows to you?
when i swipe to confirm flash it says dm5 file not found what should i do?
Re-download the file. It is most probably damaged.
It md5 error actually. Make sure that the zip file has been downloaded properly.
I installed this on my phone but after it boots up it brings up a popup window saying system is not responding. I can’t press either of the buttons (wait or force close). The whole thing freezes.
I have tried rebooting, wipe all data and cache, reinstall, all with the same result.
Kindly download and flash the latest nightly from this link: http://get.cm/?device=pyramid
Make sure to wipe /system partition as well, along with others.
Hey, finally made it work. thanks for your help. ๐
Could you please brief us up a bit? How did you solve?
I did without S-OFF.
Flashed the boot.img from the EXPERIMENTAL PACK separately from pc. Then flashed the ROM and the GAPP. Cleared the dalvik and Rebooted. that’s it.
The Nigtly pack didn’t work with the same process. I tried but didn’t work. then went for the experimental pack. and it did work.
Nice to hear that. But, I would still recommend you to S-OFF your device. This way, you’ll just have to flash and reboot. No other hectic procedures. Otherwise, its always your call.
Ok, I’ll do that later when I won’t need my phone that much. Anyways, thanks for the help guys. I am really happy now ๐
We’re glad that we could be of any help to you. Your satisfaction and happiness is our priority.
All the links have been updated to recent versions. So, no more issues regarding bootloops shall be faced. Good luck ๐
I don’t know if anyone will reply to my questions now. But I followed these instructions to get CM and JB on my htc sensation with the same zip files and letter to letter instructions but ended up in a boot loop at cynogenmod animation. I don’t know what to do. Help!
Hi, do not let any comment go unattended here! To fix the bootloop, turn off the device and reboot into recovery. Then wipe cache partition. If it does not help, wipe data factory reset too.
I tried wiping everything. still it doesn’t work. any other suggestions please!
It seems to be a problem for many. Actually, the Experimental build had bugs. Use the latest nightlies from get.cm to avoid such issues.
Are you attempting to flash the very same ROM package as mentioned in the instructions above?
yes the very same ROM package from the same link provided.
Please flash the latest nightly instead. Here: http://get.cm/get/7Tn
I will update the post with the new links ๐
downloading the file. I will let you know what happens. And tnx
Sure. We’re always here to help.
So still go bootloop. can there be problem with the gapp? is there any other solution?
I am tired of this now. help me gain access to my phone again!
Okay, try this:
Boot Into Recovery
Wipe data factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Wipe Dalvik-cache from “advanced”
Format System and data from “mounts and storage”
Flash the ROM
Flash the GApps
Then wipe dalvik cache
Reboot the device.
It’s still not working
This seems to be an odd issue.
Could you please tell me which custom recovery are you using? And is your device S-OFF?
Custom Recovery: ClockworkMod Recovery v5.8.0.9
Is my device S-OFF? : NO!
The instructions above didn’t say I needed to S-OFF my device. and now I have no idea how to do that. Is it that important?
I would advise you to stay a little calm.
This is the perfect guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1870233
Kindly follow Step #1 & #2. Once you have your bootloader unlocked and you’ve gained S-OFF, comment here.
HTC Sensation not going in clockworkmod it showing error or information sign
Please help
Either CWM is not properly installed or you’re using an incorrect way to boot into CWM.
just flashed latest cm10 is there a known problem with the wifi not working ?
What have you installed- the nightlies or stable version.
Followed the above steps, I get an error formating /sd-ext. After rebooting, the phone goes back in Clockworkmod recovery. Tried almost 5 times. Gave up & recovered by original ROM. Where did i go wrong.
Do you have a SD-Ext partition?
Have you flashed the ROM ?
I first used htcdev to unlock, then used Juopunutbear to gain s-off. Followed that by loading clockworkmod. Followed all instructions till the point where the formatting failed.
The phone boots into clockworkmod after installing cm10 & gapps zip.
Any help in loading cm10 will be appreciated
Sham
That’s quite a weird situation we have here.
You shall skip formatting sd-ext. Follow Steps 10, 11, 12 again.
Please make sure not to wipe anything after flashing the ROM and GApps.
Have i missed anything in following the procedure
That shouldn’t be happening at all.
Could you please elaborate your procedure that you followed in a little more detail?
This way, I would be able to help you in a much better way.
My bootloader says
=juopunutBear=
Pyramid PVT Ship S-off RL
hboot 1.27.111
I followed the following steps
1. Used HTCdev bootloader unlock
2. juopunutBear for S-Off
3. CWM recovery v6.0.0.0
4 copied cm10.20130210-Nightly-Pyramid in SDcard root
5 Copied gapps-jb-201210111-signed in sdcard root
6 booted in recovery mode & followed ur instructions.
I am not able to get superuser access, if that helps in any way
Thanks for your effort
Sham
Boot Into Recovery (CWM)
Wipe data
Wipe Dalvik-cache
Wipe System
Flash the ROM
Flash the GApps
Reboot the device
Tell me if this doesn’t work cause according to the guide you have all the prerequisites.
Followed your instructions. Still no luck. Boots into CWM
Tried flashing using 4ext
Worked at last!!!
Thanks a lot for all your help.
Sham
Glad! So, I guess the problem was with the CWM Recovery edition you were using.
Just retried again. After selecting reboot in cwm the phone restarts with the htc logo, vibrates twice and boots back in cwm
DJ please fix step 14,that says: Follow the step #12 again, and in exact same way flash the Gapps โgapps-jb-20121011-signed.zipโ.
it must say follow step 13, since step 12 says to format /system, maybe thats why some people say they cant boot!
Thanks for correcting me. It was a mistake on my part. Edited the post.

The first step to accomplish the “Prerequisites”.
Look on the top of the post and make sure you have all the Prerequisites.
After that, I can guide you further with Installing/flashing the CM10 ROM on your device.
Cwm is it an app i must install it in the phone or what
CWM or ClockworkMod is a Custom Recovery for Android. You might want to begin by visiting the guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1864053
hi
i’m soooooo sorry for being late
cos i had to fix my internet connection on my pc
they said in the link
I can’t be held responsible for anything wrong on
your device. I have done that twice and it works for me! If you have
some questions, I can try to answer you, but you are responsible if you
brick your phone!

hboot-1.27.0000
emmc-boot
You need to unlock and S-Off it first, then Install a Custom Recovery like CWM etc. Follow this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1870233
Its safe, as a friend of mine has already tried.
Once done, you shall follow the Instructions here to flash this ROM.
can i use the first link because it is more clear for me ( there is a video in each step) than this
and in it there are 5 steps i dont know if it is the same or not
I – How To unlock the bootloader (easy)
II – How To Hboot S-Off your Sensation, with hboot 1.27 & 1.29 it works (strange but not difficult)
III – How To Install the recovery, 2 different methods (easy or medium)
IV – How To perm Root your phone (easy)
V – How To install a custom rom on your phone (easy)
(((((((((((i must do all of this right ?))))))))))
and please can u tell me wish step i must do in it backup for my rom ?
Complete till Step 1, 2 & 3. After that you can backup your current ROM using Custom Recovery. Followed by flashing this ROM using the Instructions in this specific post.
thank you ๐
and what about IV – How To perm Root your phone
can you explain to me why we use it or why we don’t need it here
thank you again
The ROM we’re going to flash is already pre-rooted. So, we do not need to follow step #4.
i couldn’t find fastboot.exe in android-sdk-windowstools
and when i downloaded the previous version i found it
does i have to copy fastboot.exe form old version and past it in new version or i must copy the 3 files (adb.exe AdbWinApi.dll fastboot.exe) into a new folder
Just copy the fastboot.exe, don’t make any changes to other files.
hi
he said :
” If you have followed the previous How To, you must, because they are
necessary to continue with this one, you must know I have done it twice.
Once with the Sensation XE and the over one with the Sensation.
I have succeed to unlock bootloader and SOff twice with the same method.
But I haven’t been able to flash the recovery on the Sensation with the
same method than the one used for the Sensation XE! . ”
What is that mine ( I haven’t been able to flash the recovery on the Sensation with the
same method than the one used for the Sensation XE!) , my device is sensation ( normal one )
and i must go with the first method becous it is have CWM
can you help me ! ๐
I didn’t understand your issue fully. Could you please state what you want out of your device?
there is two method to Install the recovery
the first one i think ( not work in normal sensation as he said and he use in it cwm )
the second one work in normal sensation but he use different app KGS Utility v6.6
not cwm
and you use cwm what is the solution ? ( i have normal sensation)
Follow the KGS Utility method to Install Custom Recovery.
my keyboard isnt working
Try a different version of Gapps or install a keyboard app from Play Store.
No. I kept it default value. Should i change it?
Successfully installed but device getting shutdown after half hour. Please help me.
I assume you’re overclocking your device. Am I right?
No i kept default value. Should i change it?
Here arise two solutions:
1) Try changing the Governor
2) Update to the next nightly, since this might be a specific bug with the current nightly.
Thanks for reply. Now i am getting error, “Unfortunately, System UI has stopped.”
Did you update? If yes, make sure to wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache before and after flashing the update
hi my phone is not going in ClockworkMod. when I select recovery mod. an red exclaimatry sign occurs & after that it restart. wht I should do
It indicates, that you do not have a Custom Recovery like ClockworkMod Installed yet. Please Install it first.
I followed the steps and the phone didn’t boot ๐ it froze in the white HTC welcome screen.
What should I do no?
Hi Tomas, it seems you have made some mistake. Anyways, remove the battery and place it again after a few seconds. Then reflash the ROM.
I’ve done it several times and still doesn’t work. I want to cry ๐
Did you backup your previous ROM as directed in the instructions.
sir i cannot see my boot loader screen im trying to do but it cannot done as u said in ur stepsss….
Why don’t you try booting using ADB command line. Make sure you have ADB and USB Debugging enabled.
Open CMD in windows or Terminal is Linux and type “adb reboot bootloader”. Make sure the device is connected (not in USB storage mode, just connected).
