Google’s Pixel (formerly Nexus) series of smartphones provide the best Android mobile experience
In late 2016, search engine giant Google unveiled the Pixel series of smartphone namely the Pixel and its enlarged variant, the Pixel XL. It was considered as the company’s entry into the smartphone hardware scene (not really due to the fact that the first gen Pixel phones were made by HTC, for Google) by creating an identity for itself with the Pixel brand. Moreover, thanks to Google’s then Nexus line of devices, which is what evolved to become Pixel. Speaking of Nexus, it featured devices manufactured by OEMs namely Samsung, LG, HTC and Huawei on a yearly basis coupled with the stock Android operating system rather than their clunky skins atop, hence the Nexus branding. This way, consumers enjoyed the best of both worlds, that is solid hardware with silky smooth software. However, Google’s decision to withdraw the Nexus line and start a new brand was not favored initially by tech enthusiasts or the general public alike for that matter. Dear Google, if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it! Nexus will always remain in our hearts ever, forever.

Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL
Fast forward to 2017, and there came the successors to the 2016 Google flagship devices, the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL. Though these devices were flagship grade both hardware and software wise, the design of these were considered evolutionary rather than revolutionary, which is a not a bad thing at all, considering their predecessors featured a neat and simple design, barring those giant bezels top and bottom. Speaking of bezels, the Pixel 2 retains almost the same bezel filled front fascia as its predecessor. However, it is the Pixel 2 XL that followed the 2017 trend of bezel-less design. Speaking of which, the device has been plagued with issues regarding its OLED display and other hardware (I don’t have to mention the issues as most of you all are already aware of and read it elsewhere on the internet). However, quite interestingly and given that it is a flagship device with the best Android experience out there, those issues didn’t seem to affect its sales that much.
