Get More Detailed Pictures with This Camera Mod on HTC One M9

HTC One smartphones are known for great design and build quality and not so good camera performance. They have all metal body which makes it feel premium while the camera disappoints many users. Though HTC have upgraded their camera in each iteration of the HTC One smartphones, they are still far behind the competition in the camera department. They have tried various technologies like Ultra-Pixels and others to make the camera quality better, but they need to learn from their competition.

Don’t get me wrong, HTC One M9 still houses a decent camera to impress most of the users out there, but when it comes to comparison with other leading smartphones it fails to beat them. HTC One M9 has a 20MP rear facing camera which is capable of recording 4k videos as well. Though it has the good camera sensor, the software included in the phone fails to impress users. Some things have been fixed by HTC via OTA updates, but there are still few things need to be fixed in the camera software part.

Here are a couple of mods developed by Xda Senior member m4jkee, these mods fixes some of the issues with the camera software of HTC One M9. One fixes the noise in the pictures taken and other one includes the option to set the exposure for 3 or 4 seconds. Both the mods help you take better shots from your HTC One M9. Things You Will Need

• Rooted HTC One M9
• Custom Recovery like TWRP installed on your device (Read: How to Install Custom recovery on HTC One M9)
• HTCOneM9_CameraMods_v2.00.zip

Steps To Follow

• Follow the steps given below to install Hardware Denoise mod on your device:

1. Make sure you are on stock  ROM with build version 2.10.401.1.
2. Download attached HTCOneM9_CameraMods_v2.00.zip and copy the zip file to your device.
3. Reboot your device to recovery mode.
4. Select Install zip, then browse for the copied zip and confirm to install it.
5. Reboot your device.
6. Enjoy!!

• Follow these steps to install Long exposure mod on your HTC One M9:

1. Make sure you are on stock  ROM with build version 2.10.401.1.
2. Reboot your device to recovery mode.
3. Select Install zip, then browse for the copied zip and confirm to install it.
4. Reboot your device.
