Facebook has launched a new app called Viewpoints. The app will rewards users on completing surveys, tasks, and researches. For that, you will have to provide information like your name, country, email address, and gender. You may also be asked to shared your location, to be able to qualify for individual programs. Facebook claims that they will only use this data for improving its products like WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook.

Facebook Viewpoints: Complete Surveys and Earn Rewards
Currently, using your Facebook ID is the sole login method available for the Facebook Viewpoints app. So all the above-mentioned details like name, gender, etc will be pulled up from your Facebook ID itself. Then the users will receive surveys and tasks, which the users, on completing it, will get rewarded. Once you accrue 1000 points in Facebook Viewpoints, you will be rewarded $5 to your PayPal account. The payment will directly reach the user’s PayPal account.
Surveys Length, Time and Rewards
At this point in time, it isn’t clear what will be the length of surveys. Also, the type of questions or the associated rewards with each individual survey in Facebook Viewpoints is still not clear. But having a closer look at the screenshots suggests that there could be a 15-minute survey, consisting of 83 questions in total.
On successful completion of these questions, you will be rewarded with 1000 points and hence will earn $5. But if it does end up following this pattern, then not many will be eager to take part in these kinds of Facebook Viewpoints surveys, considering the time and effort required.

Well, one can’t ignore the past record of Facebook when it comes to privacy and user data. Hence, users may have a doubt or two regarding sharing their details with Facebook Viewpoints. However, Facebook has explicitly mentioned this time that the data will only be used for improving their own products and to benefit the broader community. Facebook claims it will let us know how the information you provided will be used throughout that Facebook Viewpoints program.
They also went on the records stating “We won’t sell your information from this app to third parties. We also won’t publicly share your Facebook Viewpoints activity on Facebook. Or on other accounts, you’ve linked without your permission. And you can end your participation at any time.”

Currently, Facebook Viewpoints is only available for the residents for the US. The user must be 18 years or older and must be having a Facebook ID. If you meet all these requirements, you can get the FB Viewpoints app for Android and iOS from the official page.
