OnePlus launched their latest flagship, the OnePlus 6T, a month ago. Along with the OnePlus 6T, the company showed off some new features available on the device. Among these features was the NightScape mode from OnePlus. NightScape mode is a special mode available in OnePlus Camera app for shooting in low-light or night conditions. Until now, the NightScape mode was available on OnePlus 6/6T only. Now, the NightScape mode is available on the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T too. As far as NightScape mode is concerned, it is OnePlus’ iteration of the Google NightSight mode. Now, you must have heard a lot of good things about the NightSight mode from Google. Similarly, OnePlus NightScape mode tries to improve pictures in dark or low-lighting conditions. Similar to Google’s NightSight, NightScape mode also adjusts the ISO and Shutter speed while taking pictures to capture more light in the image. This way, the images from NightScape mode look much brighter even in night-light or low-light.
Now that the OnePlus 6 and 6T already have the NightScape mode, the users of older OnePlus devices for waiting to try this mode. It seems that the time is very near as the OnePlus Camera v3.0.0 now unofficially brings the NightScape mode on OnePlus 5/5T. This feature is not available on everyone’s OnePlus 5/5T even after installing the OnePlus Camera v3.0.0 though. Luckily, we got the NightScape mode working on our device (OnePlus 5T). Currently, there is minimal difference between the shots taken with/without the Night mode enabled.
Nevertheless, you can still try to download and install the OnePlus Camera v3.0.0 APK on your device. After that, you will find the NightScape mode by swiping up from the bottom of your main camera interface.
