I was first introduced to MIUI after getting my first-ever Android smartphone (the Galaxy S2) back in 2011. I was so much impressed by it that I decided to root so that I might flash it. MIUI ROMs used to be very popular because of their iOS-inspired UI and hundreds of themes. I was so passionate about the themes that I even started developing my own themes. Times passed, Xiaomi Inc. came into existence and in August 2011 came the first phone (Xiaomi Mi 1) by the Chinese startup.

Since its introduction, MIUI has seen a revolutionary evolution. Xiaomi first unveiled the latest version of MIUI (V8) in May this year followed by the release of the Global Stable build for the eligible devices.

Being the latest version, the MIUI 8 also happens to be the most advanced version of MIUI so far. The MIUI 8 brings a host of new features like Mi Cloud Photo Sync, new video and image editing options, Quick Ball, Dual Apps, Second Space, Scrolling screenshots, inbuilt Caller ID system, and many new improvements.
