Firmware updates are always a welcome thing for smartphone users because they bring improvements, new features and address stability issues. That is why, the very news of the availability of a new software update makes us excited. While in most cases software updates are for good and receive positive feedback from the users, sometimes they do not come up to expectations.
The reactions of users to the Jelly Bean update from Samsung for some of its smartphones and tablets have been very nice. After getting the new update, users reported random reboots, lack of some good features in the new firmware, low available RAM space, slow UI response and battery drain. Most users of device like Galaxy S2, Note, etc. had to go back to the previous ICS ROM.
However, things become complicated for some phones that were upgraded directly to Jelly Bean from Gingerbread. The users that tried to install the Android 2.3.6 GB firmware back to their Galaxyย Ace 2 and S Advance, found their phone soft-bricked because downgrading to GB from JB on Samsung devices leads to this condition.
Well, it happened some week ago when a leaked version of Android 4.1.2 firmware popped up from Samsung’s projector phone, theย Galaxy Beam GT-I8530. Many adventurous users saw it as a great treat and flashed the firmware using Odin. Having discovered the nightmarish impact of the new firmware on the device, they naturally decided to roll back to the previous Android 2.3.6 firmware. And it is here that another bad thing happened! They found that their Galaxy Beam was unable to boot and it could not boot into recovery mode too.ย In the past, I have written several tutorials to help users downgrade firmware on their Android device safely and this time, at the request of a user, here is another guide for theย Galaxy Beam GT-I8530.
Warning!
By trying to downgrade your Galaxy Beam, you will be putting your phone into risk. Though the steps described below have been tested successfully, we cannot warrant 100% success for all users. thanks man this is good , i have been looking for this to downgrade my galaxy beam for pass 2 months now with no success an as you said above each time i tried to flash the beam does not boot an recovery mode does not work only download mode is posible ,thanks for the tutorial
Hmmm. How is that possible ? They made a leaked buggy version but they will not make the official one ? Samsung already promised this update not even once ๐ . Btw what is this link ? Custom rom ?
I am not sure but it should be the same leaked version as Samsung never rolled it officially because th device was unable to handle the heavy firmware.
yea btw.. samsung galaxy S Advance I9070 has the same specs as the galaxy beam and it already got the official 4.1.2 update + cyanogenmod 4.4.2 update too … So I really dont think the phone couldnt handle the software. Maybe it is all about the phone popularity or the hole marketing…. less phones bought = samsung dont care about them anymore .
Hi. Any info of the 4.1 official update for the galaxy beam ?
It will never get the official JB.
