One of the most useful features of Google Chrome is the Autofill feature. When you log in to any app for the first time, Autofill will save your login ID and password. The next time you log in to that app, Chrome’s Autofill will automatically recommend the credentials. You just have to tap the autofill dialog and your credentials will be entered. Moreover, you could add, delete or modify these saved credentials as per your requirement. In this guide, we will have a look at just that, i.e. how to manage Chrome’s Autofill settings on both Android as well as Windows. Apart from Chrome, you could also take the help of certain third-party apps for using the Autofill feature.
Manage Chrome Autofill Settings on Android
- Open Chrome browser on your Android device.
- Tap on the three vertical dots present at the top right and select Settings.
- First off, we will be setting up the passwords field in Chrome’s Autofill settings. For that, tap on Password.
- Now, toggle on the switch next to Save passwords and checkmark the Auto Sign-in box.
- Scroll down a little bit until you reach the password section. Just tap on the required website. You may now view the site name, username and the associated password. Furthermore, to delete that particular saved password, simply tap on the bin icon present at the top right.
- Next, head over to Payments methods under Chrome’s Autofill to manage the same. Enable the toggle next to Save and fill payment methods.
- You may also add a new payment method by tapping on the Add card button. Fill the required information and tap on DONE. To manage your saved cards, just tap on the desired card and make the required changes.
- Finally, you could add or remove the saved address under Chrome’s Autofill as well. For that, go to Addresses and more and enable the Save and fill addresses toggle.
- To add a new address, tap on Add address, enter all the required details and tap Done.
- However, if you wish to modify the existing address, select that address and populate the required fields. Don’t forget to hit Done before exiting.
So these were the steps to manage Chrome Autofill settings on Android. Similar to this, you also have a Bitwarden AutoFill for your Android device. Go check it out as well. Now let us have a look at how to do the same in Windows.
Autofill Settings in Windows
- On your Chrome browser, click on three vertical dots present at the top right.
- From the drop-down menu, select Settings.
- Now head over to Chrome’s Autofill section. You will be provided with the same three options: Passwords, Payments and Addresses and more. All these have already been discussed above. Their functionality is exactly the same as mentioned in the Android section.
- However, one important thing is to be kept in mind. The Password and Address section will be synced across all your devices if you log in with the same Google ID. So whatever changes you might have made on your Android device will be reflected here and vice versa.
- But that is not the case with Payments methods. Even if you have entered the card details on your Android device, you will have to repeat the same on Windows. The card details are not synced across various devices. This is also evident from the Add card screen. You will see a message notifying “This card will be saved to this device only”.
With this, we conclude the guide on how to manage Google Chrome Autofill settings on Android and Windows. Let us know if you face any difficulty during any of the steps.
