Galaxy Note 4 is one of the exceptionally built smartphones in the market right now and there’s no need to talk about its popularity. However, camera’s is not the trait on many device and sadly this applies even for the Note 4. A 16 MP camera with OIS and the Samsung brand, people expect something spectacular of this combination but the Note 4 is not the greatest one out there in terms of camera performance. But as you know, nothing is permanent in the world of Android and the performance is barely constant with time, thanks to the huge developer’s network.
kevinrocksman of XDA came up with a new camera quality mod for the Note 4 which will not only increase the performance of the camera module but also extends the video recording capabilities. To do so, you have to gather some sharp tools and start tinkering. Oh! but wait, the developer is kind enough to provide the mod in the form of a flashable zip which you can flash it using a recovery. But before getting on with the flashing business, it’s customary to provide you the info regarding the goodies you’re going to get with this mod. Here’s the list:
- JPEG quality increased to 100%
- DUAL FHD max record time increased from 5 minutes to 10 minutes.
- DUAL HD max record time increased from 10 minutes to 30 minutes.
- UHD max record time increased from 5 minutes to 30 minutes.
- Smooth Motion max record time increased from 10 minutes to 30 minutes.
- Smooth Motion quality increased from 24mbit to 65mbit.
- FHD quality increased from 20mbit to 40mbit.
- UHD quality increased from 24mbit to 65mbit.
- Different Themes available.
- Many more……
The Mod is available for both the Exynos and Snapdragon variants, so choose the mod file based on the chipset your Note 4 is running. If you’re not sure of the chipset on your device, take a look at our Note 4 variants list. The developer also took some time to make themes to the camera interface, you can choose the required theme based on its name. If the mod name ends in T, then it’s transparent theme and if it ends in G it’s Greenish theme and the one that doesn’t end in a letter is the stock theme.
