It has not been even 2 days since Google pushed Android 4.2 Jelly Bean Source Code to AOSP and the excitement amongst the developer has reached a new level. Developers and Developing Organizations like CyanogenMod, MIUI, ParanoidAndroid, AOKP etc have already boosted up the development for their supported devices and would soon update them to 4.2.
But, some people (Developers) are so passionate about there work and knowledge that just within a small leap they create legends, as this one. Lets put our hands together for randomblame, the Android Developer who is claimed to be the first in the whole wide world to successfully compile Jelly Bean 4.2 AOSP to Acer Iconia A500. Acer Iconia A500 is now the first device to receive this port. Indeed, the developer has worked very hard and devoted a lot of time to make it to this place.
Further, the ROM at the moment is not considered as a daily driver. It is still in a beta stage, so if you plan to flash it make sure to keep the knowledge of the current issues. The developer hasn’t posted an in-brief list of the working and non-working features but has pointed out the major ones.
Features that are bugged (issues):
- Inaccessible Internal SD card (Storage)
- No Audio Support
- No Camera functionality
- No Bluetooth
What is in functional state:
- Wi-Fi
- Navigation Bar
- External SD card
- Multi User feature
Everything that is non-functional will be fixed up in coming days, as said by the developer. Another important thing to take note off is that the ROM has been named as “Jellytime”. So, if you are an Acer Iconia user, this might be the news for you. Head over to the Original thread @XDA to keep yourself updated by the developer. If you discover any new bugs or issues, then please bother to visit the Jellytime-Iconia Google Project Page to submit them with a logcat and give an helping hand in the development process.
