LG K7 was launched in India for ₹8,349 in January 2016. Packed with a Mediatek MT6580M or Qualcomm MSM8909 Snapdragon 210, depending on the 3G or 4G variant, a 5.00-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 pixels by 854 pixels and a 2125mAh removable battery, the device gives a user lots of reasons to root and install a custom ROM to get every last drop of performance possible out of such a hardware combination. Below, we have listed the button combinations using which you can enter fastboot and download mode and hard reset LG K7, in order to achieve those goals.
Fastboot Mode LG K7
- Begin by powering off your LG K7.
- When completely off, press and hold the Power button and Volume Up button together for about 5 seconds.
- You should see the boot mode menu on your screen. Release the keys as soon as you do.
- Scroll using the Volume Up button and select Fastboot.
- Press Volume Down to confirm.
- You can now use fastboot mode to flash things using a PC.
Download Mode (Recovery Mode) LG K7
- Power off your LG K7.
- Now press and hold the Power button and Volume Up button simultaneously for about 5 seconds.
- Release the keys when you see the boot mode menu on the screen.
- Scroll using the Volume Up button and select Recovery.
- Press Volume Down to confirm.
- Wait until the Android robot appears.
- Then press and hold the Power button for a few seconds.
- Keep holding the Power key and press the Volume Up button once. No need to hold it down, just a simple press.
- Your device should now boot into recovery mode.
Soft Reset LG K7
- Turn around your device and safely pull off the back cover.
- Take out the removable battery and wait for about 5 to 10 seconds.
- Put the battery back inside correctly.
- Place the back cover on.
- Power on your device again.
Hard Reset LG K7
Hard reset can be performed in three different ways.
From Recovery mode
- Power off your phone.
- Boot into recovery mode as described above.
- In the recovery mode, using the volume keys, navigate to wipe data/factory reset and tap the Power button to confirm.
- You will be shown a long list of Nos and a Yes in between. Select it using the volume keys and press the Power button to confirm.
- The phone will now format itself erasing all your personal data.
- When the process completes, select reboot system now and press the Power button to confirm.
From Factory Mode
- Power off your device.
- Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons together for about 10 seconds.
- Release the keys as soon as the LG logo appears on the screen.
- You are now in Factory Mode.
- Navigate using Volume keys and select Clear eMMC
- Press the Power key to confirm.
- The device will format itself. When it does, select Reboot and confirm using the Power key.
From device Settings
- Go to Settings.
- Scroll down and select Backup&Reset and tap Factory data reset.
- The select Reset phone and Erase everything.
