If you’ve been searching for a cheaper alternative to the wallet smashing flagships from the likes of Apple or Samsung, you’ve probably ran into Honor and its latest smartphone effort, Honor 6X. For those that aren’t familiar with this up and coming Chinese manufacturer, Honor is a subsidiary of Huawei, which has already managed to garner a strong following thanks to its similar business philosophies and great handsets overall.
Speaking of Honor 6X, this might be a good time to get one if it fits the description of what you might be looking for. Why now? Because Huawei has officially announced the upcoming arrival of a new update for the device. The update will feature Google’s latest version of its infamous Android operating system, namely Android Nougat. The Nougat version coming to Honor 6X users is 7.0. In addition to this, the device will also receive EMUI 5 on top of the Android experience.
Take cover, it’s raining features
With the update to Android Nougat as well as a revamped version of the EMUI skin, Honor 6X is looking at a very long list of improvements and new features that users will be happy to spend time getting used to. The device was already excelling in a lot of categories thanks to its very attractive design and competitive specifications. Put a cheap price tag on it and send it to the “best of 2017” competition for sure. Now that Android Nougat -which is Google’s best work yet in terms of mobile software- will be joining the party, you can expect Honor 6X to cause quite a stir in the smartphone market.
After originally claiming we will see the software update hit Live in Q2, Huawei has now announced that users will only need to wait until March comes around for a taste of Android Nougat. It’s been like this for a couple of years now, but the rise of budget-prices smartphones that equal the top dogs of the industry in strength is becoming even more prominent in 2017. We can already tell that this year will see some interesting battles between tech giants, for supremacy over the market share.
Your titlebar says Honor 6 and you talk about Honor 6X, which is right? I’m suprised if Honor 6 is getting 7.0 but not Honor 7.
