Wireless charging is one of best technology to look at in the future where you can charge your gadgets anywhere on the roads, hotels, trains, planes and what not. But sorry if I am boarding you on the wrong bus here, wireless charging is not a future tech as many feel. It’s a popular theory that has its roots back into history and we all know how Nikola Tesla used his mind magic to prove it’s possible.
However, we’re not looking at huge copper coils to power up our devices for a short time. On the contrary, today wireless charging equipment is all about micro copper sheets replacing the bulky coils to make them portable and get them running with the portable smartphones. There are quite a few devices which are currently supported with the Qi wireless charging which is the standard for wireless charging now. And as you can expect, the wireless charging is not pizza at the corner and you would likely to shell out a couple of hundred dollars on this on a flagship device.
So not all are likely to use this feature right now, at least for a couple of years (maybe more) considering the market trends. However, what if you get the wireless charging on any android device with simple gear but don’t you worry on the money. All you need to spend to add wireless charging on your device would sum up somewhere below $60-$70. We stress on it, this is no hoax and many customers are really happy with this new work around with a little gear called the DigiYes microUSB Wireless Charging Receiver Module.
That’s quite a mouthful, right? but that will do just fine and you can set it up on your device in just under 5 minutes. Firstly, this charging receiver module is a very portable and ultra-thin wireless charging receiver which can be attached to your device through a micro-USB port which we use for daily-purpose charging. To pair this up, you’ll net a Qi-compatible wireless charger which would weigh you around $40-$80 depending on your requirement. Finally, you should have a smartphone to mount the receiver module. So, if you’re ready we’ll guide you through the setup process.
Note: While purchasing the DigiYes micro USB Wireless Charging Receiver Module, make sure to choose the correct type of pin that matches your device’s micro-USB port.
Things You Need
- DigiYes microUSB Wireless Charging Receiver Module
- Any Qi-compatible wireless charger – eBoot 360 | TYLT Vu | Qi-Infinity
- Android Smartphone or tablet.
- [Optional] A protection case compatible with your device to conceal the receiver patch.
How to Add Wireless Charging to Android Devices
- Make sure your micro-USB port is fine and working with no loose parts which might lessen the charging capability.
- Now, plug in the DigiYes micro USB Wireless Charging Receiver Module into your smartphone or tablet’s micr-USB port
- Bend the connector if necessary and wrap the receiver module around the back of the device and secure it with the included strip of double-sided tape.
- Place the device in the protective case to secure the setup from external disturbances whatsoever. This will also conceal the exposed copper coil at the back. However, this is optional but we strictly recommend it for longer life of the wireless charging receiver module.
- Finally, we had to add the pieces of the puzzle. Place your smartphone on any Qi-enabled wireless charger to charge your device.
That’s all you need to do. You might notice that it may charge slower than standard wireless charging enabled smartphones but you won’t find any drastic numbers. If you’ve done everything correct and compact, there should be no losses which will improve your charging speed.
Some parts of this article are poorly worded. For example, the first sentence.
And you’ve used it’s wrong:
It’s a popular theory that has it’s roots back into history and we all know how Nikola Tesla used his mind magic to prove it’s possible.
it’s “its roots” not “it’s roots”
Just a suggestion
Hey,
Thanks for bringing it up and we’ve taken care of it already. I honestly say that was a typo and your comment made sure it was corrected.
