Turning a mobile device into a WiFi hotspot to share its 3G/4G data connection with other WiFi-enabled devices is called tethering. Tethering has become a very familiar feature of modern smartphones and is found on most of them regardless of what OS they run on. On Android devices, the portable WiFi hotspot option can generally be found under network settings. If you got an Android phone that supports data tethering but you do not find this option in settings, it simply means that your carrier has disabled the feature becauseย tethering isn’t part of the deal.
WiFi tethering is really a very convenient feature for those who own more than one WiFi enabled gadgets like smartphones, tablet devices, laptops, smart TVs, etc. It’s a great thing to carry a virtual WiFi router in one’s pocket. If you own the Verizon LG G2 VS980, and are unable to use it as a personal WiFi hotspot because of the check put by Verizon, you can force things in your favor.ย As the very post title says, today we shall see how to enable WiFi Tethering on Verizon LG G2.
In order that you can turn your LG G2 into a WiFi hotspot, you must have root access on your phone. In case you have not rooted your device yet, we already have a very easy-to-follow rooting tutorial for theย Verizon LG G2 VS980 on the latest OTA update.
See this: How toย Root Verizon LG G2 on the Latest OTA Update
Enable WiFi Tethering on Verizon LG G2
If you already have a rooted device, you can directly jump to the simple steps given below and start enjoying WiFi tethering on your G2. The procedure involves replacing the stockย HotspotProvisionย app from Verizon with a modded version that lets you configure and create your WiFi hotspot. Just follow these steps and you are good to go:
- Download the modified Verizon Hotspot Provision app and copy it to your phone. If you download Vzw-G2-VS980-HotspotProvision-39A.zip from below, unzip it to find the HotspotProvision Apk:
- For Android 4.2.2:ย HotspotProvision.apkย ย
- For Android 4.4.2 (after downloading,ย rename it as “HotspotProvision.apk“):ย HotspotProvisionNewHack.apk
- For Android Lollipop (tested on 39A):ย Vzw-G2-VS980-HotspotProvision-39A.zip
- Download and install a root file explorer app, if you do not have it already installed. We recommend one of the following:ย [googleplay url=”https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.root.browserfree”]
- Open the root browser app and go to system/app directory. Scroll down and look for the following system files:
- HotspotProvision.apk
- HotspotProvision.odex
- Now tap and hold each of these files one by one and rename them as shown below using Rename option.
- HotspotProvision.apk.bak
- HotspotProvision.odex.bak
- Go back and navigate to the moddedย HotspotProvision.apk file that you downloaded from above. Copy it and paste the APK file to the system/appย directory.
- Now tap and hold the new app and choose Permissions option.
- Then set the file permissions toย ย rw-r–r– (0644) as shown in the above image.
- When you are done with this, exit Root Browserย app and reboot the device.
- After your LG G2 boots up, open the app drawer and launch the Hotspot Provision app.
- You will now be able to set up the portable Wifi hotspot.
Enjoy WiFi tethering on your Verizon LG G2 VS980! And yes, before you leave this page, do not forget to share your experience and browse more tips and tricks for the LG G2.
If you accidentally deleted the original/stockย HotspotProvision.apk andย HotspotProvision.odex files.
Don’t Miss: YouTube Go APK Available With Offline Usage
you will have to do “adb push filename /data/local/tmp/filename” then move it from /data/local/tmp to /system/app/HotspotProvision
Every time I chang the permissions give this massege Any ideas? https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/13e529d57c5ad57681b690c9777a6e5dc416906cdfa28a3bf51b3f524e193b7a.png

It works on software version 39A or lower only.
I have that and it still does not work.
I have the same problem
operation failed! error during the rename creating old file backup …plz any body help
excelent my bro… I from ecuador and here there is not verizon services.. Now I can share my mobile network.. thanks
@phillepehdsun:disqus I think I changed the permissions on the original files. I had them as rw-r-r (0644) how should they apper?
@phillepehdsun:disqus ok so I bought the full version of root explorer. I went to the system/app/hotprovision and the two item dont always show up. When they do show up they’re renamed just how they appear in the tutorial. So I copy the downloaded file and paste it in the appropriate location, Then I reboot and the file that I transferred got deleted. I dont know what to do know. I follow the instructions step my step.
Okay friends, I used ROOT EXPLORER, and it has to be THE PAID ONE. You have to pay the three dollars or it will not work properly. so on 4.4.2, you have to download the mirror link. They are two different ones and the first link did not work. You download the mirror link. You DO NOT open this!! after it is successfully downloaded and you have renamed those two things under system/app under the “root” menu which is top left of root explorer, you go back into root explorer, select storage towards the top right of your screen.scroll down to downloads. Its all in alphabetical order. long press the hotspotprovisonhack2.apg and rename it to hotspotprovisioin.apg. Now if you are not on 4.4.2 you shouldnt have to worry about renaming it as it should already be named that. Now, Long press it, select copy, navigate back to the system/app folder by selecting root from the top left menu of explorer, select system, then app. all in alphabetical order in the menu just like when you renamed the two files. in the bottom left of the screen you should see “Copy Here” Now find where it was copied which should be easy cuz its alphabetical. Long press that, and make sure permissions are check correctly. You will have to deselect two of them which are group, write and others write. hit okay, back out of it all to your homescreen, reboot your phone. Now go to your mobile hotspot under settings, mobile teathering and networks, and enable it. It should work! But remember, get the paid app and on 4.4.2 for sure you have to download the MIRROR version of the Hotspotprovision.apk. So it would not surprise me that on the other android versions you would need to try the mirror one as well. Hope this helps someone!!
every time i try to change permissions it says that it was unsuccesfull because some system files (e.g. SD card) so not allo permission changes! What should I do? Please answer
The lollipop download does not have the hotspotprovision.odex and every time I paste the hotspotprovision.apk to the system/app directory it disappears every time I refresh the folder. im running lollipop 5.0.2
did you use the paid version of Root Explorer?? It’s 3 bucks and you have to use that one.
i have LG G2 vs 980 my problem with hotspot which is not turning on, anyone can help me??? plzzzz
Have you done any modification recently?
no bro. i did not anything done.?
Try a hard reset: https://www.droidviews.com/how-to-perform-hard-reset-and-boot-lg-g2-into-safe-mode/

Works for D80030f? AT&T version?
Thank you for the tutorial.
Great work.
thanks dear awesome work
Tanks
Hi,
Thanks for this tutorial, it works great but I have a problem after setting a passkey for the hotspot and saving it, the hotspot appears with no protection at all and anybody could connect to it…
Please if you know any solution for this issue to hslp me with, thanks.
I’ve installed the new Lollipop version and the installation is slightly difference from KitKat. The two files being replaced by this new hack apk are in different folders. Instead of both of them being in the system/apps folder, there is a HotspotProvision folder under that where the .apk file is and an arm sub-folder under that where the .odex file is. I’ve appended both existing files with .bak and have tried putting the hack .apk in both the system/apps folder and system/apps/HotspotProvision but neither way works. It doesn’t enable; the active icon isn’t in the notification bar; and the On/Off button doesn’t stay On (if you revisit the setting it is Off). Any ideas?
Thanks for making this available. I am sure it’s something I am doing wrong.
Cheers!
I’m mistaken. It is working correctly, just taking a little longer than I expected to start up. The .apk file in the HotSpotProvisioning folder is where it is and working. Thanks again! You guys are awesome!
Glad to know you made it work, Bruce!
if that works then he needs to update the instructions so we know that
Hi Charlie, the method works fine on Lollipop. I don’t think the steps need to be updated.
Hi,
Thsnks for this tutorial, it works great but I have a problem after setting a passkey for the hotspot and saving it, the hotspot appears with no protection at all and anybody could connect to it…
Please if you know any solution for this issue to hslp me with, thanks.
Is there any working method for android lolipo 5.0.2 . i am on 39A
I’m wondering the same….
Unfortunately, there’ no working mod at the moment. ๐
me too
@ Ben & Charlie
We finally have the modded WiFi Hotspot Provision app that works on Lollipop (39A) firmware. The tutorial has been updated. Please check!
I found it last night and was going to post it here for you.
Great! ๐
Hey guys, good news! I am adding the new modded HotspotProvision apk for Lollipop (39A firmware). Just 5 minutes.
When I try to rename the files with the .bak it says operation failed…
Install BusyBox app from the Play store, open app and tap install option. Then reboot the phone and try renaming again.
I have 27A and can’t get it to work. Is there a workaround for this?
You’ll have to wait until a workaround is available.
I now have 24A as I redid my phone to stock with files. But I am still getting Unfortunately, Provision has stopped.
Have you fixed the file permissions correctly. Check it again. Also try clearing app data for the Hotspot app from Settings> Applications.
Now I get Unfortunately, com.lge.mobilehotspot.ui has stopped. after I clean the app data
Did you try fixing the file permissions and rebooting the phone?
yes, I will try from scratch
damn it…. I renamed the files back and rebooted and make sure it was back to normal. Then did it all over again and still not working.
Got it ty
What happened?
If it still doesn’t work, start from scratch.
Follow these steps
1) first install busy box
2)install stump root nd root your phone using stump root
3)then follow above mentioned procedure .
Hey i just switched from Verizon to Straight Talk on my LG G2. All of this worked but my PC is unable to connect to my Hotspot. I enter the password and everything but then it just says “unable to connect”
Will done the new hack is doing perfect thanksssss…..
Great! Thanks for sharing your experience!
This doesnt work, just force closes when i try to turn on mobile hotspot, running the latest ota, 27A, any ideas?
Hi, it doesn’t work on new firmwares. We would update the tutorial when the new version of the modded hotspot provision app arrives.
I am running 27A and it is working.
I just installed the newest push from Verizon a few minutes ago and the hotspot works.
Great,. Thanks for sharing the info!
It’s not working for me with 27A.
Did you do anything special?
Never mind. I got it working. I started from scratch and used the regular link this time. I used the mirror the first time.
Awesome write up! Thanks!
Thanks, I have replaced the mirror links.
Good deal!
Just remember when an update comes in, you need to put the original file back and i always reboot. Then install update and reboot, then put the patch file back in and check permissions and reboot again. I haven’t had any problems with this process yet.
Glad you got it working!
When id o wireless hotspot, after about 10-15min, it stops working and transmitting data. Then if I go into settings to turn it back on, it wont until I restart the phone.
Does anyone else get this on their VZW LG G2?
Make sure your permissions are set correctly on the apk. I know mine will shut down the data transfer after a while of not using the connected device, but i can just go in and turn it back on with no issues.
Open the Mobil hotspot app and hit your menu button. Go to advanced settings and you’ll see the power settings, it’s defaulted to 10 minutes. Change it to your liking.
Man, I didn’t even see this one. ha ha thanks!
Mine are all set to rw-r–r– 0644. Nothing checked for special permissions. Is that where you have yours?
Here are my settings, same as the tutorial.
Yeah, those are the same as mine. Hmm I wonder what the difference is on mine. Maybe if I get bored one day, I’ll do a factory reset on it and see if that helps.
Thanks again for the help guys.
Hey guys, I solved it, and Rakesh, I think it’d be great if you added it to the tutorial.
When you go into the ‘Mobile Hotspot’ application (or you got to ‘Settings’, ‘Tethering & networks’, ‘Mobile Hotspot’), you click the menu button and it shows ‘Advanced’ at the bottom. Click on that, the go to ‘Power Management’, and switch it from ’10 min of inactivity’ to ‘Never turns off’.
I think my phone didn’t see my computer working (even though it showed up as ‘connected to one device’), and would turn itself off.
Look below, i posted that for you…
If it still does it, i would put original file back in, reboot. Delete the file you downloaded and redownload. Replace as tutorial says and set permissions. Reboot again and hopefully that will take care of it.
Rakesh any procedure available for non-root device, coz i dont want to root my device.
thanks
Nope.
You saved my life Rakesh, it worked super. I recently bought this mobile and i was very worried ’cause hotspot feature didn’t working and I really need to share my internet conection with my other devices. Thanks man ๐
You are welcome! Thanks for sharing your feedback.
Thanks, man. It works very well for me. I aprecciate!!
I accidentally erased the hotprovision.apk and hotprovision.odex file. I downloaded your zip file above, extracted it, but was unable to install. Could you please give me the steps following the extraction? Thank you
They are system apps so you cannot install them normally. You need to push the apk and odex files to system/app directory using Root Browser and then set/fix the file permissions to rw-r–r– (0644).
Copy the files to your phone. Open root browser and copy the files. Then paste them to system/app folder.
Got it. I did everything you said. However, when I did the reboot the mobilehotspot app is missing now. How do I get it back.
You have made some mistake. Have you fixed the permissions correctly. Open system/app and check if the permissions look like how you set them?
I fix the permissions on the renamed file that I downloaded, and dropped in the system/app folder, right?
Rakesh,
I’m an idiot! I accidentally backed up and deleted the mobilehotspot app in Titanium Backup. Fortunately I backed it up. I reinstalled it and everything is working great. Thank you so much for your help. You are the man!
Glad to know, Ray! Keep visiting!
By the way, since I have 4.4.2 I downloaded “hotspotprovisionnewhack.apk”, renamed it, dropped it in the system/app folder, fixed permissions, and then did the reboot. But after reboot the app was missing. Thank you for your patience.
Hi Ben, I won’t suggest you to go with the new update as it brings changes to the Hotspot app. I am afraid you won’t be able to enjoy tether after receiving the OTA. Wait for some days till it’s confirmed working on the new build. Cheers!
Thanks for the quick reply. It started trying to install earlier in the week.
I’ll wait and see.
Just a FYI, I got sick of the daily reminder. I put the stock .apk hotspot files back in place, rebooted and updated.
Upon reboot, install was successful, still had root. I then put the modded hotspot.apk file in and rebooted. Works like before.
Thanks for sharing the info.
Thanks this worked great for my LG G2 using 4.4.2.
I have LG VS980 verizon 4.4.2, my carrier MetroPCS, modem 24a, but I can’t use this hotspot more than 1 week!?! After this time it suddenly doesn’t work. But internet on the phone still works. What wrong was I doing? I tried 3 times to return my phone to factory rom, after that it works, but only 5-7 days. Could anybody help me?
Does not work “Unfortunately, Provision has stopped.” Followed every step. Used towelroot. Don’t know if that matters.
Install and setup Busybox (from Play Store) on the device and try again. It works great, tested many times!
It worked great using it now! Thanks.. Just wondering will carrier know?
No, it won’t.
My phone has unlimited data [still], my sons doesn’t, I’ve been pulling what little hair I have left out, trying to get past Verizon’s BS, so that when we are out somewhere together he can tether to my phone and not have to worry about going over his limit. This worked great! Thank you so much!
Glad to know, sir! Keep visiting!
I’m waiting for the release of the Verizon LG G3 since it’s just a few weeks away. Do you know if this will also work for that phone?
No, it’ll not work on G3 but I am sure, there’ll be some other tethering hack for the device after a month of G3’s release.
I just followed these steps on my Verizon G3 and it’s working.
Here’s the new mod for the LG G3. The G2 apk works but the user has to reconfigure settings after each reboot. Can you check that and confirm?
Root Browser
I opened Root Explorer / System / App I rename those name,I copy that apk
go back to App and hold it try to paste on it,but just come up like this as picture ??
You’re doing something wrong.
Do this: tap and hold the modified
HotspotProvision.apk, Select Copy, then you should see paste option on the bottom. Do not touch that and tap the UP Arrow or Home icon from the bottom bar, navigate to system/app folder (you have to open “app” folder. Then tap the Paste button.
dear Rakesh,
First,I would like to thank you for your help ! but still unable to paste it to the app folder ! I did downloaded the apk on ES file Explorer,i copy it,I can see paste option on the bottom,I click home bottom go back and open Root Browser,System then App,I hold it on App the box comes up as picture i posted earlier ! I don’t know what I did it wrong !
I am using Android 4.4.2
Hey Joe, it really sounds weird why you are not getting Paste option. I would suggest you to try Root Explorer. Just copy that apk to system/app and fix the file permissions.
Rakesh
Thanks anyway,I will try it again ๐
When I hold on app it does not have option “paste” ??
see this: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/84115590/Screenshot_2014-06-19-22-12-29.png
Developer: JRummy Apps Inc
Okay. When you tap and hold a file and select copy, the past option appears at the bottom of the screen.
i downloaded the hotspotprovisionnewhack.apk but there is no paste option to the system/app ?
Which root file explorer app are you using?
im a noob with a problem unrelated to wifi tether and was hoping someone can help ! I cant seem to install TWRP on my phone ( using the loki method) so i can install some roms:) I seem to be doing something incorrectly ( i think it has to do when when i attempt to flash the .img file, but i cant be sure) and i cant figure it out. If anyone can take some time out to help, i would really appreciate it so much!
Try this: https://www.droidviews.com/install-twrp-recovery-on-lg-g2-running-android-4-4-2-kitkat/
Thanks Rakesh! I have 4.2.2 – do i need to upgrade to 4.4.2? Also, if i do upgrade, what will happen to my phone if i install twrp from the link you’ve sent me- do i need to unroot to upgrade? Thanks so much for your help ๐ -pooja
No, you don’t to downgrade. I assumed you have KK. Try this method for 4.2.2: https://www.droidviews.com/root-and-install-twrp-recovery-on-lg-g2-verizon-att-sprintt-mobile-bell-rogers/
thank you very much! it was simple to do and it worked !
Glad to know you made it! ๐
thank you! this did the trick!
I tried everything above but can’t figure how to download then copy and paste the new file into the system/app folder?
I’m using ROM Browser and can’t figure out how to copy and then paste it in??
Please help!

Hi everyone. Long time lurker, first time poster.
I am beyond frustrated. I installed the hotspot fix for jelly bean 4.2. My LG G2 has constantly been trying to update; so I thought it would be a good idea to delete the hotspot provision so that I could update.
I screwed up somewhere and now the mobile hotspot is gone and the โupdaterโ is gone as well. I downloaded the โstockโ mobilehotspot.odex and the โmobileupdateclient.apkโ installed them to phone, set the permissions, and rebooted the phone.
However, on reboot the mobile hotspot app is not showing up and the phone will not try to update when I go to โabout phoneโ and โsoftware.โ
I installed TWRP to flash back to stock, but I canโt even get that to work, I just get the android guy with the triangle and exlamation point.
Any input but would be GREATLY appreciated.
Cheers to a great community.
Have wifi working now. Go to xda developers and download newest fix for wifi tethering. Page 26. Thanks..
Thanks for the info. I have added it on the post. ๐
I was able to restore the mobile hotspot by going to the lg website and downloaded the lg mobile support tool. I reloaded the kitkat os and I now have the mobile hotspot back. No wifi yet.
I also deleted some stock apps and would appreciate a download as well! Thanks!
Great instructions. However I accidentally deleted the stock hotspot provision apk and odex files. Can you steer me in the right direction to get these files? thanks.
Here’s the link: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/84115590/MobileHotspotVZW.zip
Verizon LGG2. I updated OTA to 4.4 this morning, installed drivers (I had to youtube how to do this), then rooted using iRoot25, then used the same HotspotProvision.apk instructed above. Worked flawlessly even after the KitKat update! Thanks!
Thanks for confirming!
Rakesh – I accidentally deleted my mobile hot spot apk and odex mis reading another thread on how to get prepared for the KitKat OTA. Right now all I can find is an apk that is not showing up in my app tray or system apps, so i essentially have no mobile hot spot app (or hot spot provision) so I can’t take the OTA. Any idea how to get the stock apks and odex so I can take the OTA? Been searching all day
Joe, email me and i’ll send you a link to download mine from JB that i saved. y2kbyts@gmail.com
Email sent, thanks Jim!
I just got my 4.4.2 KitKat OTA and found that this will not work now. Any chance of a new build for KK?
We’ll update when a working method for KitKat is available!
Have you tried the old HotSpot provision apk?
Thanks for the Reply Rakesh. I tried the original APK and I get an error “Unfortunately Provision has stopped” when I go to enable Hotspot.
I get same error.
The method still works, even on the new KitKat. e have got confirmation from some users. You might have made some mistake.
Thanks for the reply. This worked great before I updated to KitKat. The only mistake I made was not setting correct permissions. I have corrected permissions, rebooted and still unable to get working. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
Does not work with Verizion 4.4.2
Thank you. I couldn’t get anything else to work with my rooted LG G2, but this did. However as you stated I had to use Root Browser instead of Explorer. However the ability to use Wifi tethering was the reason I rooted my phone, so now I am able to.
Glad to know it helped!
Well I thought it was. It shows that my mobile hot spot is on and that my iPad is connected to it, however my ipad says there is no internet connection.
Try it with some other device, may be some Android device or laptop to verify if it works. You can also try rebooting your devices.
Rebooting my phone seems to have fixed the issue.
I’ve clicked on the link for Hotspot Provision but it only downloads Mobogenie.
Seems you have clicked an ad. Wait, I am going to add a mirror
Download from here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/anmku7s4pc9bq33/HotspotProvision.apk
I have downloaded the app file, followed the instructions but I don’t see the Hotspot Provision app in the app drawer.
Replied on G+.
Hi i have rooted my phone and download the provision and all that and so when i go to activate the hotspot it comes on and connects to the device which is a ps3 but im not able too access the internet so if u can help that would be amazing and another since i rooted the phone seems kinda off
You used ioRoot method to root the device?
Yeah i belive so
Try reconfiguring the APNs, or try a data factory reset. ioRoot does not have any bad effect on data connection. When did you root the device?
I did it earlier today but not to be a pain how do i reconfigure or if i did the factory Reset do i do the process again
No, it’ll not unroot the device.
You can also try rebooting the device a couple of times.
Hey ive reset and it got closer to connecting. But it asked for a proxy which i have not seen befor so im suck and frustrated but thanks for ur time

Thanks so much for the info !!! Just got my G2 yesterday and already rooted and hotspot capable! Great write up and easy to follow directions!

New HotspotProvision hack for KitKat is available now.
Can anybody help me? I have the Verizon g2,am already rooted, DONT have a custom rom, am on Android version 4.2.2, and have tried using various file Explorer to delete the Hotspot apk and 2nd file, already backed them up from system but everytime I try to do the part to delete them, I get a pop-up that says I can’t delete because system is read only -_-
Also won’t let me just replace that Hotspot apk with the rooted one, anyway to delete?
Which file manager are you using? Use Root Browser instead.
Sweet, thanks rakesh! I was using just about every other one but just ones I had gotten from the play store, except for that one. But it worked! Can now enjoy mobile Hotspot on my LG g2 with unlimited data plan! You’re the best! I’m back to how when I had my bionic and razr maxx ๐
You’re welcome, Angel!
Is there a way to prevent the hot spot from timing out due to inactivity? I have no app in my list of apps as you mention. There is no option in settings for Tethering & Networks > Mobile Hotspot.
I believe my phone does not have a the option for an SD card in that step I’m not sure where to copy and paste those files.
We have mentioned SD storage not SD card. Just copy the file to your device.
Thank you! Worked perfectly on my gf’s new Verizon LG G2.
Great! Enjoy and keep visiting!
thank you so much Rakesh sir, it works perfectly.. Last time i downloaded the mirror image file of apk but this time i downloaded the apk file from the link and now it works. thank you so much.
Glad to know that you made it finally. ๐
Yes sir i have verizon lg g2. and i have correctly fixed all the permissions please hel me out. i have rebooted my phone also.
Hmm, all I can suggest now is to go through the whole procedure all over again.
after all the steps have been succesfully done, when i open the Mobile Hotspot app it shows an error “Unfortunately, com.lge.mobilehotspot.ui has stopped.” Can help me?
Do you have the Verizon LG G2? If yes, make sure that you have fixed the permissions correctly.
yes sir, i have Verizon Lg g2 32 gb variant. and yes i have fixed permissions correctly. and then i also rebooted my phone.
FYI – I was also having this problem with the KitKat 4.4.2 hotspot apk linked in the article above. I switched to trying the apk in the mirror and it’s now working for me. Rakesh, perhaps your main apk linked to is corrupted? They are different file sizes…
Thanks Paul, I’ll check it. ๐
Thanks for the info, Paul. I just removed the corrupted Apk.

in sqlite editor.. goto com.android.provider.settings >> then system >> then settings.db>> then PRESS UR BOTTOM BUTTON, >> SELECT FILTER, >>>PRESS THE DROP DOWN SECTION, >>>SELECT NAME >>> AND TYPE TETHER>>> you’ll then see.. “tether_entitlement_check_state” goto the value and edit to 0 .. it will save ..then reboot phone

Does this work for sprint lg g2? If not, can rooted sprint version get wifi access?
Install root browser on your unrooted phone, go to system/app and look for this file: HotspotProvision.apk
It it is there, the method will hopefully work for you.
Doesn’t this require root?
Since you have to replace system files, it does require root. Here is our rooting guide: https://www.droidviews.com/root-lg-g2-after-recent-ota-update/
Root it and then you will be able to get tethering:
Thank you – this worked perfectly!
Thanks for confirming, sir.
