Regardless of whatever OS or device from any manufacturer you might be using, the presence of bloat apps is common to all. First, your phone or tablet might have some system bloats injected by the OEM and then it might be further loaded with a lot of apps from your carrier (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, etc.). In most cases, bloat apps are useless stuff that not only populates our device but also have a bad effect on their performance. Many of them keep running stealthily in the background and thus keep feeding the RAM and battery. By removing LG G2 bloatware, you can make it faster and get more juice out of it.
We all like a neat app drawer that has only those apps that are of use to us. Therefore, it is obvious that everybody wishes to get rid of those apps. Since all bloatware comes with our device out of the box, they are pushed to the partition of our device that is inaccessible to users. You can call them imposter apps! To delete such apps, we need access to the system directory where they lay hidden. The very privilege to access our device’s system and ability to modify it is called root access.
LG’s current flagship phone is a powerhouse in itself. It is blessed with awesome hardware specs like Quad-core 2.26 GHz Krait 400, Qualcomm MSM8974 Snapdragon 800 Processor, 3000 mAh Li-Po battery and 2GB RAM. Because the LG G2 does not support expandable storage, you have to do with the 16/32GB inbuilt storage. No doubt the device performs well as it comes but it’s also true that by removing its useless system apps, you can free more system memory which else remains occupied and enjoy faster performance and better battery life.

Remove LG G2 Bloatware
Method 1
- Open the Root Browser app.
- Grant SuperUser permission to it when prompted.
- Go to system/apps directory and delete the apps that you want to remove from your device.
- It’s a good idea to back up the apps before you delete them.
- When you are done with doing that, exit Root Browser and reboot your phone.
Method 2
There is yet another way to remove bloat system apps easily using the CleanTOOL script on your LG G2. The method has been tested on AT&T LG G2.
- Download the CleanTOOL script file: CleanTOOL.zip
- Extract it on your desktop and copy the contents found inside the zip to your LG G2.
- Enable USB Debugging onย your phone from Settings> Developer options. If you don’t see this option in phone Settings, refer to our guide.
- Connect your device to the computer and then launch ADB Shell. To do this, press Shift+Right-click on your mouse. Select “Open command window here” option.
- Now type the following command in the cmd window:
adb shell
- Then type the following lines and press the Enter key after each line:
su cd /data/media/0 chmod 777 CleanTOOL ./CleanTOOL reboot
- Press Enter key again and your phone will reboot.
At the completion of the procedure, the following apps will be removed from your device:
Method 3
If you have root access on your LG G2, you can install a system app uninstaller from the Google Play Store and easily remove your desired system app. The app also creates a backup of the uninstalled system apps, so that you might restore those apps later if required.

It’s there any way to get rid of all the at&t software and then unroot phone as if it were the factory model of g2? I need it to be unrooted after the whole process.
Is there any way I can recover the clock widget accidentally deleted?
Yes, but you will have to find the original files and push them to system directory. Another way is to flash a stock LG based custom ROM.
You can also get the G2 clock widget and more using this app: https://www.droidviews.com/pimp-your-android-with-beautiful-clock-and-weather-widgets-with-xwidget/
I’ve already tried searching for the files but I can’t seem to find them anywhere
I have a rooted Micromax Unite, which may be of your radar. But if I can be guided on what system apps can be uninstalled (especially Chrome) I shall be thankful. I have already uninstalled close to 10 system apps but am leery of heavyweights like Chrome.
Navigate to System/app folder using Root Browser, find Chrome.apk and delete it. After deleting, reboot the phone.

I just tried the system app remover (first link) and it didn’t appear to do anything. You can still run the program I removed, it still shows in the app drawer, the only change was that afterwards it said there was an update to the program and Google Play updated it automatically.
Then try Root Browser.
