Xiaomi and Huawei are both known for making smartphones but Huawei has also recently started pushing out some great laptops. Xiaomi did launch a few of its own before but neither of them was quite as bang for the buck as one would expect from Xiaomi. RedmiBook 14

RedmiBook 14 is the first Redmi laptop on the market because previous Xiaomi laptops were Mi branded. The company launched this at the same even that it launched the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro smartphones. Like all of Huawei’s and Xiaomi’s products, this one resembles an Apple product as well. Although, the insides of the laptop pack in way more hardware than Apple would even dream of selling at the price of CNY 3,999 (₹40,300).

Specifications

The display is a 14-inch”ultra-narrow” HD display with a resolution of 1920 pixels by 1080 pixels. It has a standard, full-size keyboard with a travel distance of 1.3mm and 19mm wide keys. Its touchpad supports multi-touch gestures. The display aspect ratio is the same as most laptops in the price range, which is 16:9 so we don’t really know what the company means by “ultra-narrow”.

The device is available with 8GB of RAM out of the box along with 256GB or 512GB of SSD storage. And comes with an ‘efficient’ cooling system. The Intel Core i5 model is available in both 256GB and 512GB variants but there’s an Intel Core i7 8th gen model available only with 512GB of storage. An Nvidia MX250 GPU is also included making it a very well rounded product for all kinds of purposes.

The company claims the notebook can handle 10 hours of usage on a single charge despite all that power.
