The Samsung Galaxy Galaxy A6s was released back in November of 2018 in China. It is powered by an upper mid-range grade Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor coupled to an Adreno 512 GPU aided by 6GB of RAM. The device comes in 64GB and 128GB flavors regardless of the RAM configuration. Thankfully, a MicroSD card slot (SIM 2 slot) that can handle cards of up to 512GB in size is available in the device for storage expansion.
Providing visuals is a 6.0-inch 1080 x 2160 pixels Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a pixel density of 402PPI. As expected, the Galaxy A6s is equipped with a fingerprint scanner at the rear and also features Samsung face unlock as biometric authentication options.
Photography
The camera department is handled by a basic dual camera setup featuring a primary 12MP (PDAF) + 2MP (depth) sensors combination assisted by an LED flash. Up front, again we do have a 12MP shooter again. The rear and front camera can capture videos at a resolution of up to Ultra HD @ 30fps and Full HD @ 30fps respectively.
Battery, connectivity and Android
A not so adequate 3300mAh battery is onboard the Galaxy A6s to provide more than enough juice to keep the lights on and also the device is expected to come bundled with a 15W Adaptive Fast Charging charger to top it up fast enough in the morning via the USB Type-C port.
Coming to the connectivity side of the Galaxy A6s, it has you all covered with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0 LE, A2DP and EDR, GPS for navigation and location-based services and much more. Thankfully, the device retains the good old headphone jack we all have been loving for years.
The Galaxy A6s launched with Android 8.0 (seriously, Sammy?, why no 8.1? at least, strange!) Oreo-based Samsung Experience UI out of the box.
Pricing, availability and paint jobs
As for the pricing, at launch, the Galaxy A6s was priced at CNY 1800 ($260) in China. As far as color options are concerned the Samsung Galaxy A6s will be available in Blue, Black, Red, Pink or White.
“No-notchsense” display
Design-wise, the Galaxy A6s employs the trendy 18:9 aspect ratio display that doesn’t feature a notch, props to Sammy for that! However, flip the device and at the rear, you are greeted by a vertical camera module featuring 2 camera sensors. With that said, from the looks of it, Samsung seems to have taken a page from Apple’s book for that vertical camera module design and placement.
