The Huawei Mate 10 was launched in November 2017. As is the tradition now with Huawei flagships, Huawei also released a Huawei Mate 10 Lite to go with it for people who don’t want to spend a fortune on a flagship. Unlike the Honor version of Huawei’s flagship devices though, the Honor 10 Lite packs in a mid-range processor and similar level specs. Huawei Mate 10 Lite design
Huawei Mate 10 Lite was one of the last smartphones with a premium build to arrive with a metallic back. The front of the device is obviously glass, with is surrounded by an aluminum body. It measures 156.20 x 75.00 x 7.50 (height x width x thickness) and weighs 164.00 grams. The device has been available in Graphite Black, Prestige Gold, Aurora Blue color options. Notches weren’t a trend back then but 18:9 displays sure were so the device does sport a tall display without a notch. The display is further accentuated by the device’s small bezels.
Huawei Mate 10 Lite Specifications
The Huawei Mate 10 Lite is a Dual-SIM (GSM and GSM) smartphone that accepts nano SIMs on both slots. Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, USB OTG, FM, 3G, and 4G are included among the connectivity options. Sensors on the phone include Compass/ Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor, and Gyroscope.
The device packs in a 1.7GHz octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. The processor isn’t something that can be compared to a flagship processor but it can hold its own. Along with that, the device provides either 64GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 256GB. All of this hides underneath a 5.9-inch IPS LCS touchscreen with a display resolution of 1080 pixels by 2160 pixels. On the rear, it houses a 16-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
On the front is a 13-megapixel shooter for selfies and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. That’s a total of four cameras if you’re counting. All of this is powered by a 3400 mAh battery. The Mate 10 Lite shipped with Android 7.1 onboard but has since then been updated to Android Oreo with the Android Pie-based EMUI 9.0 update expected. On paper, except for the processor, none of the specifications sound quite mid-range and yet the pricing of the device actually makes it one.
