Specifications
Lenovo debuted the low-end A5 way back in June of 2018. The A5 features an HD+ 5.4in IPS LCD display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a resolution of 720 x 1440. The A5 is powered by a low-end MediaTek MT6739 SoC coupled with a PowerVR GE8100 GPU along with 3 GB of RAM on both the 16/32GB variant. Thankfully, there is a dedicated MicroSD card slot for expandable storage that can handle cards at the size of to 256GB.
Camera
Photography is handled by a simple and basic single camera setup at the rear featuring a 13MP (f/2.2) sensor. An 8MP (f/2.2) sensor is up front for selfies.
Battery, connectivity and Android version
A massive 4000mAh battery is onboard the Lenovo A5 to keep the lights on. Coming to the connectivity side of the Lenovo A5, it has you covered with WI-FI 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2 LE with A2DP, GPS and more. Oh, and by the way, the device features the good old headphone jack we all love. The Lenovo A5 runs on Android 8.0 Oreo-based ZUI 3.9 (Lenovo’s custom UI for the Chinese market) out of the box.
Pricing and color options
At launch, the Lenovo A5 was priced at approx. CNY599/$94. The A5 is available in Black, Gold and Rose Gold paint jobs.
Design, why are most of the OEMs impersonating Apple iPhones?
Design wise, up front the Lenovo A5 looks sleek and elegant with minimal bezels top and bottom. However, flip the A5 and there you go, it resembles the Apple iPhone regarding the camera module design.
