VPN stands for virtual private network, it’s essentially a way of securely transmitting data between your computer and another server over the Internet. A VPN server allows far-flung employees to effectively become a part of your non-profit’s secure in-office network over the public Internet. Think of it as a secure “tunnel” through which your data travels. The data that travels through this tunnel is encrypted, which goes a long way toward keeping would-be data thieves from eavesdropping on your remote workers.
Along With securing your data VPN can help you do various other things like:
- Helps you protect your identity on the web.
- Unblock geographically restricted websites: Use streaming services like Spotify, Netflix anywhere in the world.
- Access blocked sites on your Network: Access blocked websites on your network like Facebook on your school network.

Hey Tanmay very nice post!! Although I’d never go with Free VPNs since there’s always a catch, they can be used for privacy, but Not Security. Since these VPNs use Transparent proxies which is kinda setback when it comes to browse anonymously. When there’s a cheap alternative like Hide My IP (secured VPN with Elite proxies), then there’s no point in using free services.
I do not use Free VPNs as they are not safe. They sell users’ bandwidth and other resources. Hola is the biggest exaample of it. For Android, people should either use premium or at least fremium apps for security. I use cheap VPN (Ivacy VPN that is only $1.83 per month) that earns from the money I pay instead of earning from my resources.
Using VPN unlimited. Got and unlimited lifetime subscription for 39 dollars a few months ago. It lets me use it on 5 devices including pc’s
