All mobile phones, made by any manufacturer, have some certain set of codes that are used for specific purposes. Most of these codes are not meant for common users, and really they really are of not much importance to most of us. I still remember the good old days with Symbian phones when we used to dial codes like “*#7780#” and “*#0000#” for hard resetting the phone and bringing out phone info. While most of such codes are not for an average or even advanced users, some of them are really important and we should take them down for future use.
Here I will be listing some of the secret codes for the range of Samsung Galaxy devices. Please note that all the codes might not work with all devices. Codes like *#06# and *#1234# are common to all phones, regardless of the manufacturer but some are the device, carrier, and region-specific.
Find Out Manufacturing Date of Samsung Galaxy Devices
The secret codes can be used for several purposes, such getting the info of your device, resetting call counter, manage connectivity and radio, getting battery data, software and hardware version, setting up touchscreen, testing some features, changing CSC codes, and lots more. Here is how you can check the manufacturing date of a Samsung Galaxy device. You can try other options too.
Open your phone’s dialer and type the following code:ย *#197328640#*. In case it does not work for you, try this one:ย *#*#197328640#*#* . This will open the Service Mode menu on your Galaxy device. Select the option N. 2, that is “Version Info”. On the next screen, select ‘HW Version” (here HW means hardware). Now you will see another set of options on the next screen. Now tap on “Read CAL Date”, and bingo! You can now see the date of manufacture of your phone. In my case, it was August 21, 2012, as you can see in the screenshot above.
There is another way you can know the basic info about your phone through the IMEI (International Mobile Station Equipment Identity) number. Open dialer and type *#06# to get your phone’s IMEI number and type in the box at numbering plans.ย

You should not share your phone’s IMEI publicly.
How can I know if I received a NEW phone, when I purchased my Samsung S 7, and not one that had been returned for some reason? Thanks
I have a cell phone
And I want to know my cell phone manufacturing or home month’s it will be used
Dear Rakesh, Well…Here I am again…lol… Today I go to Samsung service in my area and explain the whole situation to the technician there… He told me that, It’s probably that one of the Mobile repair guy that I sent my phone to repaired earlier has erased the EFS Folder of mine(by Odin or some box he said…) when they’re trying to fix the EFS issue, IMEI and S/N of my phone. The Samsung technician told me that, they’ve been taught…”NOT TO TOUCH THE EFS” especially to wipe or erase the EFS. Because in that folder…there’s thing he call “CAL” which he explained it’s just like the frequency or something like that, that will catch the signal from the sim operator to the board so I can make phone call… I then feel familiar with this “CAL”. I wrote down whatever details that I found out about my phone… so, when I searched about the CAL, I found you again…lol…
Well, before I updated the phone’s firmware to the latest one I can dial *#0011# and then press back(by press the menu soft key and select back) and back til I’m in the main service mode…but since I updated the firmware to I9500XXUBMG1 I can’t press back from the page when I dial *#0011# anymore… and I also can’t enter USB Setting by dial *#7284#(the page where you choose to connect USB and UART as PDA or MODEM) I think it’s because of the firmware…coz when I flash it back to the older firmware it can enter those mode by dial pad…
Anyway, that’s just something I wanna share with you but the main million dollar question is…(lol…) The technician of Samsung told me that I need to change the board…because those CAL on my board been erased already so, it can’t pull the signal from sim operator to my board that’s why I can’t make phone call or receive SMS, MMS. The only CAL that I found on my phone is RF CAL DATE and it said: Unknown. For the HW Version: REV__ but the FTA HW Version: REV0.6 And when I dial *#0011# the info on screen at the last row is IMEI CERTI: FAIL… (My phone has Original IMEI and S/N now)
Well, I need your opinion… Do I really need to change the board… It will cost me about 200 to 250 US. Dollars for this job…because I have no warranty with Samsung since it’s not the phone that sells in my country…so I have to pay full amount including service charge.
The technician also told me that he can’t fix this CAL for me because only the technicians in SAMSUNG Main company in Korea can… this is the way they work. Even the equipment that he has right now can do very limit jobs as it’s policy of Samsung. But…he believes that there’s some box that can RE-CAL for the phone again but he doesn’t know where I can find it, he only said it must be expensive…
My boyfriend told me to sell the phone as part for repair… and he will buy me new one if I want… but… It’s not about the new phone now… It’s about my dignity…lol…^_^… I am always be Miss Able… that’s why I keep annoying you like this…(sorry for that) There’s nothing that I can’t do IF I wanna do it…and tell you the truth…this is what I REALLY wanna do…Fixing my phone back to normal without change any part of it… but it seems like I may have lose this battle…lol…
Anyway, thank you so much for your support, patient and kindness… I will keep in touch to let you know the end of this long story ^_^
Please, take care.
