Google has again updated the Chrome Beta for Android. Note that this web browser is not the same as you see on your phone. With the new update the app has reached to version 25.0.1364.47. The update is not very big yet it is important because it brings a singular but interesting change.
The new version of the app draws the restriction from a hidden menu page that allows access to some experimental features for the app that are still under development. Thus you can switch on those those features from the advanced settings of the Chrome Beta app. Brandon Jones from the Google Chrome developer team says that “the latest Chrome Beta for Android has the chrome://flags/ page enabled, which allows you to enable WebGL without root or a hacked APK!”
Update (December 28):
Among many hidden experimental features the new Chrome Beta has also the fullscreen browsing functionality which has recently been discovered by a guy named Smackel. Here is how you can enable this feature.
- Intall the Chrome Beta on your device with Android 4.0 or up.
- On the address bar type “chrome://flags/” (without quotes)
- From the huge list of options, enable the WebGL option.
- Then click on Boids and Buildings Chrome Experiment page page and click on “Launch Experiment” button.
- Now click on “Run” and you will be able to enjoy fullscreen.
- You can now close the experiment page.
Let us know if the experiment was successful for you or not!
The new feature added in this version might have of no interest to a common user but if you like to keep up with the latest version of the Chrome Beta for Android, you can download it from below.
