The release of Samsung Galaxy S2 GT- I9100 Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Source Code today indicates that the rumors of a JB update under development for this old best-seller for the Korean manufacture were not false. The source code GT-I9300_ICS_Opensource.zip is now available for public download at Open Source Release Center contains all elements for our ROM developers required for developing new stock JB-based ROMs for the Galaxy S2. The Source code is based on the Firmwares I9100ZSLS6 and I9100ZSLPG
Now, the question that hovers over our heads is: “could this be seen as an indication that the most-awaited Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the S2 is at hand?” Yes, it is. The Facebook Page of Samsung-Updates says: “Expect official Jelly Bean rollout for Samsung Galaxy S II (international version) upcomming week :).”
Back in November we had heard of an Android 4.1.2 update under testing for the S2 but the new input indicate that it will be Android 4.1.1. Whatever it is, if this news is really true, and we believe it is, Samsung Galaxy S2 owners got a new reason to smile as the ICS-fed folks will soon be tasting a new Jelly Bean flavor.
